Happy Cinco de Mayo! My employer is doing a nacho bar for lunch today.
Stars and J22, don't you just love (not) days like that!
We have a couple of sailboat masts sitting unused over sawhorses and I noticed a little bird building or tending a nest inside one of them. Better protected than the gutter!
Gma likes to be the center of attention, so if she got some attention, she would enjoy the music for a little while. A few years ago, she would have told (over and over) how her dad played guitar and sang, and even sang on the radio. Now she doesn't remember enough to tell her stories.
dianah -- enjoy your trip!
Raining here. Another evening of tornado warnings and sirens. The boys (and dogs) and I hunkered down in the hallway for a bit. You may have heard about tornado damage in Seminole, OK. It's about 50 miles away and a friend from a former job lives there. She was at work in OKC when it hit but did report when she got home that the house and barn were intact and all the animals OK.
No choir practice last night due to the storms.
Gma was up about 0300 and insisting she didn't want to go back to bed, she wanted to go home. I had opened the front door to see if the dogs wanted to go out (they didn't) and I closed the door and locked it. She looked at me shrewdly and asked me to do that again so she could see how to work the lock. I woke Hubs and asked him to get his mom back to bed. So he took her by the hand and led her back to bed. She didn't argue with *him*. Then he says to me that he doesn't understand why I couldn't have just done that and not bothered him. ?
Hello~
Last night sitting on the front porch, although there were few clouds, we saw a really bright flash of what at first we thought was just 'sheet lightning'. Waited a few minutes to see it again, but THIS time there were skinny bolts of lightning going from cloud to cloud, sideways across the sky. I know there's cloud to ground and ground to cloud lightning, but from one cloud to another, back and forth rapidly and erratically seemed a little spooky to me and I said "Welp, time to go inside!" // No actual storm occurred and we didn't have any rain.
Slept like a log, woke in early-ish morning to hear that our lawn was being mowed, but ignored the sound and went right back to sleep.
Hubby has gone to his PCP appointment. Hope he gets everything accomplished that he wants to have seen to, but I dunno. Blood panel---yeh; X-ray---maybe; Scan--will have to be a separate appointment at the facility where they do all that kind of stuff. Hubby seems to think he will be at the doctor's a long time, as he is also supposed to have one of those ridiculous wellness "exams" at the same time. We'll see.
Nannie is doing her after-lunch napping, wearing her pink, fuzzy wrap-around on her upper body, and about 4 feet away from her feet, the space heater is set on high. The rest of the den is chilly, especially when the ceiling-vent blows air down.
Ado, Tornado warnings and sirens---eeek! I used to have tornado nightmares when I was younger, and vowed never to live where those things can happen. I once worked with a girl who did grow up in an area where tornadoes were always a problem. She and her parents lived in a mobile home. She said one afternoon when she was home alone, a tornado happened close to her home. She went into the bedroom at one end of the home and scrunched down between twin beds. She said she felt that end of the mobile home lift and set down a few times, and then it was over. Her place was okay, but not far from her a few mobile homes had been moved around off their settings. Pretty creepy and scary! // I know what it's like to call on hubby to intervene with Nannie. However, sometimes she gets stubborn and won't do anything he 'suggests'. She has started staying up later to watch TV, as long as I am in the den and have control of the remote. Last night when hubby asked her if she was going to stay up all night watching TV, she said "Yes" and looked at me with raised eyebrows---pretty much indicating that if *I* was up watching TV, *she* would also stay up also. I said I was turning off the TV in 15 minutes when the show was over, so she stayed up until then. She's like stepping on a chewed piece of gum in a hot parking lot, ya just can't get rid of her! // Tell your husband that she wouldn't do anything for you, so you woke him up because "You da MAN!"
Though no rain has been predicted for today, the sky sure looks like it is thinking seriously about raining ....aaaand now the sun is out. Schizo!
I suppose I'll go out a sit on the front porch while Nannie sleeps. No ballgames today or tonight.
Good morning!
Stars sent us that hot weather and it was in the upper 80's with a "feels like 92". Mostly I was at work.
We get tornado warnings on our phones here but no pays them any attention. We don't get a lot though. I evidently was out driving in a thunderstorm and a tornado was nearby. My ex at the time heard about it on the radio touching down at a trailer park up the road. Who knew?
Work was okay. A last minute admission and a patient had the nerve to go into tachycardia at shift change.
Have a great evening.

Hi Tweety
Dianah have a nice trip
NJ that would be confusing
Stars that does seem an odd place to build a nest
Work was a bit better yesterday, busier in the morning and slower in the afternoon. Thinking the rest of the week may be fairly busy, but we'll see. Thinking that things will be a bit busier than before from here on out, result of some recent changes
Did the grocery shopping last night and stopped at the library
After work have to go and get a Covid test, since I have a doctor's appointment Mon and they want proof I'm still negative
Will be in the mid 50s today and tomorrow, more rain expected. Awful lot of rain these past few weeks
