Stars it's good you'll get out tomorrow, even if just for a bit

Dianah that is an interesting recipe

Hi Tweety

Work was not bad yesterday, despite there being a hour long and relatively useless meeting.  Even had some time to work on stuff for today as well

After work had an hour long drive to the restaurant to meet with the over 50 group.  Thankfully the drive back was only a half hour, and a bunch of people showed up.

Today I'll do most of the packing, also might do some more grocery shopping, or I might wait until Sunday for that.  Good thing about a short trip is that the packing is pretty simple

Will be a bit warmer today, in the low 80s, no rain expected

G'Mornin'. and it really IS morning~ 😴

I'm up and have had my coffee and fed Momo. In a short while I'll get up and dressed. My nail appt ....what was I thinking?! 9:30 AM!?! So I'll leave in a little over 1/2 hour. I didn't sleep well last night; it was almost 3:30 AM before I fell asleep and that alarm clock was rude enough to go off at 8:30! After four hits of the snooze button, I finally got up. I know I'll be glad LATER, when I get back home, but right now I'm having it a little trouble getting into the Oooomph Stage.

Got my nails done this morning and Momo is ecstatic about it! Scratch-scratch-scratch!

And THEN....I had left SiL a text asking when she was coming over today....we had planned to teach the newby how to get Nannie up and all that happy stuff. The newby was scheduled to come here at 1 PM. SiL called me back during her lunch break. I didn't know she was working today. But listen to this!------------SiL left newby a text message yesterday, and the call was just returned about an hour ago. Come to find out, that new girl can't come today! She said she went to a family birthday party yesterday, and the whole fan-damly "kidnapped" her and took her camping.....!??!....so she isn't even in the area! SiL is fit to be tied and wanted to know if she should call the girl and tell her not to even bother coming next Thursday, but I said no, give her this one time, and if she pulls it again or keep doing stuff like this, then she's out. SiL said she hadn't met this person, just that she came "highly recommended" and was said to be reliable; also her mom had had Alzheimer's, and the girl is experienced, outgoing, etc....I reckon we'll see what we see when we see it! SiL wanted to know how I could be so "chill' about it, but I said I worked private duty so many years and it wasn't like this sort of thing never happened. I have been stuck before at a patient's house because of no-shows, and there's nothing much can be done about it when it happens. Once, I even had requested having Easter off way ahead of time and it was granted, but early that morning the office on-call person called because she couldn't get anyone to cover the case and it was a "MUST  STAFF"....She begged me and begged me, and I finally caved and said I would go, but she had 2 hours to come up with SOMEONE to relieve me. Well, nobody relieved me, so on my requested Holiday....I ended up working a 16 hour shift because the 3-11 had called in also! Now, in that situation I was pzzd off. But over the years, it's just something that happens. I wasn't planning anything big this afternoon anyway. So, it's time to go get Nannie up! Yippeeeeee!

'Newby' missed the best Nannie-shift ever! Nannie has been reared back in her recliner with her jaw hanging open, snoring lightly, for the ENTIRE afternoon! When she wasn't snoring I had to get closer to see if her chest was rising and falling.  It was.

When I turn on the local news, I will start Nannie's supper, then wake her up to eat. I sure hope she doesn't try to 'splain all the news items to me again today! Yesterday it was the usual stories on the news, mixed with the commercials and, of course, the guys in the woods over to the right of the house (ie NOBODY) and she was involved with something, but I just couldn't get her to say anything that made one lick of sense....*sigh*. If she had any idea that she was sounding soooooo crazy and not making sense, it would make he so mad! That's why many times I just say "Uh-huh", hoping she will conclude her narrative. Doesn't always work, though. Yesterday at one point I had to say "Wait a minute, I need to hear what they are saying." and I cranked up the volume a little more. The thing is, she explains to me what I am watching at the same time as she is, and she still doesn't get any of it remotely right. SMH.

Poor thing and "bless her heart".

Heh, if so, I am in that same boat!  Natter on!  Too bad about the Newby and her being kidnapped.  One would think her family would honor the fact that she had committed to come by for her training, and not remove her from her first day of a new position!  But, then that's me.  Hearing about that made me raise BOTH eyebrows!  Will see how it turns out.  I am not bringing out the popcorn yet.  😉

I was So. Tired. last night, I slept well most of the night.  Had my salad for lunch, then dh went out to his eye appointment and I took the Big Car off to get it cleaned up.  We will take it tomorrow to go jamming at the camp-out, though we won't camp there.  Just visit and jam.  It is dusty from being outside (the newer, Little Car stays in the garage now).   I got it all cleaned up and vacuumed the rugs inside, etc.  It'll be clean for, Oh, maybe 6 hr.

Yesterday dh got some sort of protective coating on the Little Car, and he can't wash it or leave it in the sun for prolonged periods, for four days, for the coating to "set."

It's a little overcast today, which is nice -- no harsh sunlight on us!

Have a good evening!

Home from a long day at the cardiologist in Seattle. Echo unchanged, BP  little high as it always is at doc visits. No symptoms, come back in a year. Stopped and had a celebratory beer and dinner , now early bed, I think.
