Hey, it's a kind of a Thesaurus kind of day! I am positing a query regarding the garrulous sitter ..... as in, guess what caregiver is NOT coming today to sit with the Nannie-person? Yes! You are right! Chatty CG had an emergency room visit with one of her relatives, and cannot attend today's planned shift for the elderly lady with whom I live. But....next week.... she is willing to start qThurs6hr regularly. Provided the world doesn't end or somesuch other event. 'Man plans, God laughs.' Yep, I have to be the one whose plans for time off are once again thwarted. Anyone surprised? Not me!
SiL says she will come and get Nannie on Sunday, which means after church. and she will probably keep her until after they have supper, which means that at least I do not have to prepare an evening meal for her. However, Sunday is too far ahead to make any firm plans, so we'll see what we see when we see it.
And now, as I finish my first cup of coffee, it is time to go get her up out of bed and washed, dressed, fed and medicated. The fun never ends, though, because there is also LAUNDRY ..... which I am coming to believe is a DIRTY WORD!
Anyway, same old same old.
Hello all!
Gosh, Tweety, those days off went FAST! I hope your day ends up not too badly.
No Stars, so sorry the sitter cancelled. It strikes me she is not very reliable, ya think? But, I suppose she is better than nothing. Soon you will have M-W-F Nannie-free. I'm with you: I have SO many things at home that need doing, and I just don't start them. I think about them a lot...
Joe, I hope your day went well.
I got our taxes done. We pay a little to the Feds, and get about twice that back from the state. At least it's done for the year.
I made a Spicy Chicken Coconut Mushroom soup, turned out pretty good. I broke one of my pretty firm rules about not tweaking a recipe until after I've made it once, completely according to the original instructions. Just things like: recipe calls for 1 1/4 cups coconut milk. I measure out 1 1/4 cups, and pour it in, and there's 3/4 cup left in the can. I don't want to waste it, so I pour that in too! Also, the container of broth holds 4 cups, the recipe calls for 3 cups of broth. I pour the whole 4 cups in. I tasted it to make sure the extra fluids didn't water down the flavor. It tasted OK, and dh loved it! It's a change from our usual Chicken Tomatillo Soup. 🙂We will switch off evening meals, one soup one night, the other soup the next night.
Not much else going on here. Have a good evening!

Tweety hope it was a productive day for you
Stars that will be nice when next week arrives and you have more time to yourself
Work was good yesterday, nothing unexpected and not too busy, despite a short meeting
After work was pretty quiet too, just exercised. Was supposed to be a dinner with the over 50 group but the organizer cancelled due to expected severe weather. Was torrential rain and hail in the early evening, although all of the tornado warnings were well south of us
Today will hopefully be the same at work. Will check the tire pressure and fluids in the car in preparation for tomorrow and run an errand or two. Will exercise a bit as well. Will do a bit more packing, although most of it is done already
Will be colder today, in the low 40s
