Surprise, surprise~ I called the car dealership and they said we'd made the down-payment through a cashier's check from the bank, and they have no records of us other than that: "We have no records here on this end." So I left a phone message for my personal banker that she may have to go digging back in our records there, to 2020 when we bought the car! I hope to hear from her before too long. I don't think it will be paid for until next year, but if it was paid for I should have gotten a title!
Meanwhile I have to go get Nannie up, as she has a 2:30 PM appt with the orthopedic guy. I don't know what he could do that hasn't been done for Nannie's left wrist; I mean all they can do is wait for the hairline fracture to knit itself back together again. IF she has to have a cast put on it, SiL is going to pick one in a color Nannie likes, which I think is pretty smart. But, since she hasn't fiddled with the cast they put on her at Urgent care, maybe that will suffice.
....To be cont'd....
I was thinking it was possible that when hubby died "without an estate" and his credit card from the bank was cancelled....after the lawyer sent them documentation that hubby had no estate (the car is in my name, but he may have signed the loan papers originally), his debts were cancelled or 'eaten'....so maybe they have the word about that somewhere in their records. It would be great if that debt was settled already ... all I want is the car title, if that is the case. Whooooo knows! Hope to find out soon.
MAJOR MACKERALS! The car loan was a personal loan that hubby signed, and the remainder of the car payments were erased when his credit card was cancelled, so that's why I've never rec'd any late payments notices. The account they had been putting the car payments into still had $2,000 left in it, so I closed it and transferred that $ to my checking account! I can't find out how much more was due on the car, because it was a personal loan of hubby's, but I believe I had about 1+1/2 to 2 years left to pay on it. But it doesn't really matter now because it has been taken care of. All I have to do is go to the DMV, fill out a MVR-4 application form, have them notarize my signature, pay them $21.50, and then wait for the title to be mailed to me. VOILA!
I think it was really about time for me to catch some GOOD luck and GOOD news!
The only thing I'm waiting on now is the new credit card to arrive in the mail , Then my banker will get the Master Card paid off with that and the personal loan I got, and she will put it the loan and the card repayments on auto-withdrawal payments and balance my checkbook and I will be at the FRESH-START-place financially!
Hubby had said to me a while back that he was really upset that he could not help support and "help take care of" me like he had hoped to do, but the alcoholism took over and that flew out the window. But maybe he would be pleased to know that by him signing the car loan as a personal loan, it was written off now. So actually without knowing or intending to, he really did help a LOT!
Glory be to God! What a relief!!
The Ortho doc kept Nannie's splint, but he said the Urgent Care didn't have it on her right.(?) He has wrapped cotton underneath it and wrapped over it with ace wraps. She's not being terrible about fidgeting with it, but she has wrapped it (sort of) with a longish piece of paper towels! She says it doesn't hurt a lot, but it does bother her sometimes. SiL said they pulled her hand out HARD to set the bone, and had to do it twice, but she said Nannie was good as gold and didn't yell or anything! I told SiL that if either of us did anything like that we'd have our heads handed to us! Anyway, she goes back in two weeks for a recheck.
It's almost time to put Nannie to bed, so I'll check outta here for now!
Hello all!
GREAT news about the car payments/loan, No Stars!! Maybe you are turning a corner?!! Hope Nannie leaves the splint alone, so that bone will heal.
Tweety, do you work Friday too? Good it was an OK day!
Joe, I hope you don't have to rent another car, that yours is DONE soon. Drink water when you are walking in that heat (this is yer mom, preachin' at ya!!).
Today dh and I rinsed off the RV (it's a small one, not one of those huge ones), and I made quiche (spinach/mushroom) for the trip. After it cools, I will portion it out and freeze it. Tomorrow we will transfer food stuffs from the house to the RV. I vacuumed while the quiche was baking; dh took little doggy for a walk. Doggy HATES the vacuum cleaner, so we remove him from its noxious presence when I vacuum. I'm about DONE for the day! Oh, after I finish the laundry and clean the litter boxes. For supper, we will have the tomato soup I made. I froze part of it for the trip, and we will have the extra that wasn't frozen.
Tomorrow we pack, and load the RV as much as we can. House sitter will come by tomorrow, and we leave in the morning. Will be gone a few days. 😉 I will check in via phone, so you are not totally un-supervised, LOL!
Have a good evening!

Finally had a good slow day at work yesterday, nothing unusual happened and no new cases. Was able to work ahead a bit, hopefully this will make the next 2 days easier
During lunch drove to the rental place to return the car and walked back. Was pretty hot yesterday so I was pretty tired when I got home. Rest of the day was fairly calm, just exercised and stayed in
Today nothing unusual going on, will email the body shop to make sure the car will be ready tomorrow. If not I'll need to rent a car again
Going to be another pretty hot day, about 90, with storms expected
