Remember those dishes in the sink hubby told me not to do? They are still there.
Woke up late AM and heard voices outside...peeked out the blinds and there is hubby, on the ground in the wet grass. The guy who was delivering the humidifier cup for the 02 condenser, a little skinny guy, was trying to help him up. I put on my bathrobe and ran outside and we were able to help hubby stand up. He said he tripped on the front walk, Well, there is a section of the walkway that dips down, so who knows. But I will tell you that when we got him seated on the front porch, I did notice he had pin-point pupils. Wonder what he swallowed along with the vodka? Who knows. He would deny it and also say that he hadn't had 'that much' to drink. (Oh sure, uh-huh.)
Anyway, I had to help him out of his wet clothes and into dry ones. I hooked up the humidifier and he decided he would lay down in bed and rest. I got Nannie up and gave her the yogurt and AM meds. Turned on the TV to find out what happened with last night's game, (it was rained-out and postponed until Sept 11th.) and found out the pre-game was playing! The game starts in less than a minute.
But first, today's errand is to drive to Walmart and pick up refills for Nannie and hubby. The fun never ends!
I'll prolly be back here later on.
The boys left this morning to drive to Indiana. I won't rest easy until they're back. I do hope they have a fun visit.
I dropped off a coat at the dry cleaner for Twin A, then grabbed a Subway sandwich. There's so much to do. I think we're expecting stepdaughter Monday around noon, will need to pick her up from the bus station in OKC.
Angus was a handsome little guy. I'm sure he knew how loved he was.
Had to wait for the pharmacy to fill the refills. When I finally got home, the ballgame was in the 7th inning, and nobody has scored anything; so apparently I didn't miss much!
After deciding he would rest in bed, when I went outside to get in my car, there he was sitting in the Ford watching his smaht-phone! Never heard him come down the stairs or go out the door. He said he was using his "Ninja Skills". Real bright. Well, after I got home, he went back out to the Ford again. Ppfftt!
Aaaaand he's in his bed again. Huh. He can't stay still, I guess.
I saw where he tripped this morning...a no-longer-inhabited fire ant mound at the corner where the driveway and the front walk abut. That is the third time he has tripped on that mound. I may go out and shovel it up. I wish I had something like a corner fence post to place there. Or like a BIG sign saying 'DO NOT STEP HERE!'
How tedious.
Thank you all for your kind words. Dh is taking this hard. It's too quiet around here.
I sat in on Sis's intake visit with the nurse and PT. They both emphasized pain control, and tsk'd tsk'd about the hospitalist sending her home with scheduled tylenol, and 1/2 a Vicodin every 4 hours as needed, and agreed with me advocating for something stronger. Sis will run out before tomorrow night, so home care urged her to contact PCP. Which she did, but the receptionist told her she needed to contact the hospital. Wut? I had her ask if she could take ibuprofen, and the receptionist said she would ask about Tylenol. Huh?
I swept, dusted, and cleaned sis's bathroom. And now I'm home. So weird not to hear Angus's toenails clicking on the floor, or him sticking his face in mine to demand I open the door for him. Sigh.
Tomorrow the grandkids are coming over for a sleep over. The city is showing Top Gun : Maverick outside in the park, so we'll go watch that.
Annie, that's a long drive, which you know, cuz you just did it, right? How far are you from OKC?
Joe, that's too bad the bar is so far, but it sounds like you had a good time.
Stars, I suppose if your hubby has pleural effusion or ascites, that sleeping while laying down would be tough. Pinpoint pupils seem weird.
Pinpoint pupils can mean 'someone' had taken a narcotic, maybe? That's what I think, anyway. He had also, earlier, made a trip to 'the shopping center' which means the ABC store. He is having problems lifting his feet and stepping SECURELY on the stair. I have run up behind him and put my fingers in the waistband of his athletic pants, and kind of use them like a gait-belt.
He just called me up to the kitchen to ask me to go to the upstairs bathroom and get him some more of his insulin syringes. Okay, did that. Then he had to call me to come up to the kitchen again to help him pick up the test-strips he'd spilled on the floor. I have previously told him to hold the test strip bottle over the table when he has to open it. He offered me an alcohol wipe to push them together and pick them up that way. I said NO because if you get alcohol on the test strip it might not give you a correct reading. That may be what has happened the last few times he said he needed a new meter, because it isn't working right.
I wonder if he has early s/s of dementia? Maybe I'll never know the difference between his alcoholism and anything else. Oh well. Que sera sera.
The boys called and they made it to Kokomo. Only one minor mishap along the way.
It's about 30 miles to OKC. Not a bad drive at all. There are a couple of times each day that the highways get pretty busy.
I collected green beans, 2 peppers, and 2 cucumbers from the garden..I hadn't noticed the cucumbers and they got pretty big. Probably past their prime. I'll have to do a better job of looking.

Sorry to hear about Angus NJ22, I know it can be a difficult decision but a necessary one to avoid pointless suffering
Stars it must be frustrating to have to fufill so many roles. I hope he will seriously consider detox
Not a bad day at work yesterday, was fairly busy most of the day
After work ran an errand and then drove into the city to the gay bar. Was a long drive, nearly an hour with all of the traffic. Nice enough place, although I don't think it would be practical to go there frequently given the traffic. Drive back was only half as long
Today will do the laundry after work and see what else I can do in preparation for the family reunion next week. Will meet with the counselor over lunch as usual
Will be another fairly warm day, in the mid 80s. Again no rain
