Good morning!

Dianah, congrats on your impending retirement.  I can understand the mixed feelings but if the time is right, the time is right.

Stars, that does sound like a reasonable cost.  I spent $700 last time I had my car serviced and there was nothing wrong, just routine maintenance to keep something from happening.

J22, is the Seattle stay pleasure?

Rose, so glad the treatments are helping your vision.

I complained about being short staffed and was told "sounds like you need a vacation".  No witch, I need proper staffing.  Sigh.....but yes I do need a vacation.  There are days on my vacation there is only one person scheduled.

I had a dream I was on a stage screaming "I'M SO SICK OF WORKING SHORT STAFFED".  A woke up then.  It was 15 minutes before my alarm so I just got up.

My sisters ex-husband wants me to keep his dog this weekend for a few days.  Not sure why he isn't asking my sister who usually stays at his house but that's not my circus or my monkeys.  His dog is really sweet and the same breed as mine and old.

I had a nice three days off.   I am bummed because I spaced out and let the movie I rented expire before finishing and I don't know how it ends.  Not sure I was to rent it again to find the ending.  DOH

Hope everyone has a good day.

Tweety I agree, vacations are no substitute for proper staffing.  Overworked people can't recover just by taking vacations

Stars glad the car is fixed

NJ22 that does sound like a hectic day

Rose glad the vision is  improving

Dianah I can understand the mixed feelings about  retirement

Work was better yesterday, no long meetings, no trainings, no new files.  Even did some things I had scheduled for today

Went grocery shopping  and had choir practice, we're singing this Sunday.  Hope we're ready, only 3 people this time and the other 2 have been off for the last month

Another training today,  but I think my schedule is light enough to accommodate it

Will be in the 30s  today and 40s tomorrow, might get some light  snow

Yes, our stay in Seattle is for pleasure. We went to the big NW Flower and Garden Show, that is in its 33 year (except for last year). It used to be the second largest in the country, but it was much smaller and far less attendance this year. Still, we had a good time, bought some cool plants and garden art, and watched an informational seminar. In the past it was very crowded and difficult to appreciate the display gardens, but not this year. We had a late lunch at a pizza place that makes wonderful pizza, and now we are back to the room, watching the Olympics. We will likely just get dessert for supper.

I wish my vision was getting better. It hasn't been great since I was a child, and been going downhill since. I was referred to a retinal specialist once and they use the really strong, long lasting mydriatics to dilate that seem to last forever, and I was in pain for a long time. They mis-diagnosed me, and wanted me to come back yearly for rechecks, but no thanks. I go to my regular optometrist who does a nice job and is very gentle.

Good Lord, Tweety, that is ridiculous to infer a vacation would fix short-staffing. And didn't they ask you to work if you didn't go on your trip? Yeah, I think I spent $500 on my last routine maintenance and declined some of the stuff they recommended. I can change my own air filter, cabin air filter and wiper blades, for 1/4 of the price, thank you very much.

Good news about the taxes, Dianah. I think I have all the forms now, but I haven't even looked at the taxes. We usually come pretty close.

We are looking at going to the theatre this weekend to see a viewing of the Beatles last concert, on the roof. I think I like and appreciate them more now than when they were still together. I think most of us remember that, right?

Have a good evening.
