Here's NOT very much of a surprise, especially to Tweety!
Hubby woke me up at 11:30 AM and he apologized for waking me up, but he was trying to turn off my alarm clock. (He thought it was Friday) He said the doc's office had called him this morning and they had moved his appointment to NEXT Friday. I very loudly exclaimed the ef-word and threw the covers over my head.
I got up and called the doc's office to check on his 'new' appt and they said it is for Monday at 3:40PM. Hubby came in a short while later and said "The appt is on Monday." I told him I knew, that I had called to check because he didn't seem to know what day of the week it is, and I didn't want him to miss one more appointment.
He said, "now, if you want to ask the doc anything on Monday, I won't get mad." I told him I was just really mad that he has another 4 days to drink and fall.
He also said he was going to go with the doc who had told him that if he really wanted to try the Librium taper again, and really applied himself this time, he would agree for hubby to try it again.
THEN hubby told me he had called two rehab places and they quoted him some costs for 5 days in rehab (like it would make a heck of a lot of difference. I said that Medicare and his supplement would be paying for it, and I didn't think that 5 days was enough for him to dry out. He didn't drink for 5 days when he was in the hospital this last time, and the first thing he did when he got home was start drinking with a vengeance, and had already fallen 3 times since then.
So, there ya go.
Good afternoon.
Stars, without a doubt he will take the librium taper if offered. I hope you can talk the doc into taking that off the table and prescribing a 28 day inpatient program. End of discussion. Make him live up to the promise of doing what the doctor said. My inpatient rehab was 42 days because of my young age. He needs to not just dry out, he needs to learn the skills necessary to stay sober. But you can't bang your head against a brick wall.
Joe, it sounds like he doesn't want you to know what procedure he's having doesn't it?
So I was in charge of both sides, but didn't have a patient assignment. Started coughing as soon as I got there. I've done that other times and figure it's just allergies. It got better but I deteriorated and felt very fatigued and had a temp of 101.4 by 6pm. So I left. Covid negative. So hopefully it will pass soon as these things tend to do with me. But I'm not getting any younger either. Temp currently is 101.7. No congestion or anything like that. Occasional cough at this point. Bleh....... called off for tomorrow. Crazy I've been off all this time and get sick at work.
One thing the doc told him that he hasn't mentioned, is that at the last appt, doc said he thought it would be a good idea for hubby to also go to see a psychiatrist. I'll agree with THAT! I'll bet hubby balks at that, but, OH WELL!
It is 10:15 PM and I'm hoping I'm not jinxing things by telling you he has not fallen today. Of course, he's come close a few times, but so far his head has not hit the ground or floor....today, that is.
He has to get through the weekend.

Ado it does make is easier if people tell you what they want
Stars hopefully at tomorrow's appointment it can be made clear to him how bad his situation is and how much he needs to change
Wasn't too bad a day at work, it ended fairly quietly
After work had an online meeting of the political group. Then I braved the cold and the rain to get groceries and some materials for gift wrapping
Tonight I'll probably stop at choir practice and help with the fairly simple piece they're doing for Christmas. The director figures one or two practices should be enough to learn the piece
J texted photos of his nephew's first child. Still haven't heard anything more about the procedure he's supposed to have
Will be in the 30s today and tomorrow with snow possible
