Woke up with Tinker tromping all over me and saying it was time for me to get up. Last night Tinker barked two different times 4 AM and 5 AM.....because Nannie had gotten up both times and was sitting in the den, in the dark, not knowing why she was up. Each time I told her it was too early to be up, and that she needs to go back to bed; each time she smiled and laughed at everything I said, like oh what FUN. 🙁 But, putting her back to bed didn't keep her IN bed.
When I got up after Tinker told me I had to, Nannie was in the recliner again. I made her stay right there and gave her the breakfast tray to keep her busy so I could take Tinker out. Tinker did nothing business-wise, so we came back in. Then I got Nannie up to the bathroom for a wash and to change into some clothes. I put a long-sleeve jersey on her so she had no sleeves to yank down all day long. But she is trying to make the front of the jersey perfectly straight and that's impossible because her belly won't allow perfection.
Now, just sitting in the recliner with her feet elevated, she said her shoes 'hurt'. I told her to take them off. I hope it isn't going to be a fussy day for her, but it does seem like that IS going to be the case, as now her socks aren't right. OY! 🙄 She keeps 'inspecting' her shoes and her socks. I got up and got some clean socks and a different pair of shoes and put them on her. I wish she would go back to sleep. I wish *I* could go back to sleep. It's not that I am sleepy, but it's just I want not to have to deal with her-majesty's minutiae (sp?). Oh what fun it is to rise with a burning attitude toward my "ward". Happy days aren't here again. She is now inspecting her clean socks and different shoes, and frowning. So, guess what? THEY AREN'T RIGHT! But she can't tell me why. I took her shoes off and said we would leave them off until she has to get up and walk. She is still 'suffering' from what is now not right about her clean socks. Too bad, so sad. I better stop posting because I am not feeling very nice about too much of anything. The doctor never ordered a PRN sledge-hammer, so that's not an option.
I'm not going to say I still haven't done the dishes, but it's true. But you didn't just read that I said so. Who ya gonna believe, me or your lying eyes?! And I'll still have to get the trash barrels out to the street late this afternoon. (Didn't I just DO that?) I can't stuff Nannie in a barrel because 1.) She is way too heavy to lift, and 2,) That would be considered Elder Abuse. So, I have to tolerate her and being stuck here with her. I should be well-practiced by now, but I would really like not to be so triggered by her. Hard to stay calm when she is fussing with the solution to the first complaints. When nothing suits her, nothing suits her, regardless of any of my attempts to 'help' with it.
Dementia. Don't we just love it.
ENOUGH! (too much!) ARGH!
Hello all!
I slept OK last night, and after lunch got "ready" and drove 30 min to Cardiology appt. There was some traffic on the 10 fwy heading out (I always expect some!), and my dash temp said it was 109 degrees outside! I found reasonable parking, and my appointment went smoothly -- no new issues, weight, BP, HR, rhythm, and etc doing well. On the way home I again hit traffic, kind of in the same area. I stopped on the way to get dh some Vietnamese sandwiches (bahn mi = "bun mee"), and I got us each a smoothie: mango with boba for him, avocado without boba for me. I am home now, and enjoying the smoothie!
We are helping with some music at a local Baptist church's annual dinner, come October. Bass player is organizing it, along with two of the church musicians. I need to get a few song sheets ready for them, so we can practice together -- put words and chords together for the pieces we will be doing. We will do the set list that the band did this past weekend, at the festival. When we get together, we may end up tweaking it, will see. But at least we have something to start with.
My dash temp said 107 degrees as I pulled into the driveway. I am not planning on going out any more today, LOL!
Have a good evening!
Temp here was about mid 70s. Yesterday we volunteered at the demo garden and then had pizza for lunch. I did some unpacking from our trip and laundry. Today we drove to the WSU experimental station to pick up some tea plants. We are going to trial them in our garden. I am afraid they won't survive the cold Winter winds. They are a kind of camellia, which we can grow the ornamental kinds, so perhaps they will work. And we stopped for Jersey Mikes sub sandwiches.I came home and fell asleep for 2 hours.
dh plans to grill tonight, but I am so full of sandwich that may wait for tomorrow.
Today is our 49th wedding anniversary. No plans to celebrate.
I am driving my sister to a cardiology appointment on Monday, an hour and a half away. We both had negative experiences with the local cardiology office so we go to Seattle. So we will have a nice visit on the drive and stop for lunch on the way home.

This year -- this month! -- we celebrate 50 years married! It's crazy, that that much time has passed! And we don't have any plans so far. We may go out to a moderate restaurant. We are so used to eating at home now, that we back away from most any outing that we have to "get ready" for. It's much nicer to just stay at home.
I hope the appointment with the office in Seattle meets your needs more. The visit and lunch out kinda make it all worthwhile, let alone going to an MD that you trust and whose office treats you right. Safe travels, and I hope the news is good.

Stars glad you got a break from her yesterday
Ado glad the flights went OK
Hi Dianah
Work started off pretty slow. Afternoon was busy, had an hour long meeting and got 2 new cases, something that hasn't happened in quite a while. Managed to get both complete before the day was over
After work was fairly quiet, mostly just exercised and worked on a puzzle
Today should be quiet at work, unless anything new comes up. Nothing going on after work either
Today should be the same as yesterday, temps in the upper 70s. Has been nice not to use the air conditioning
