Hello - Thoughts on putting a soft roll under the patient's Achilles tendon while a patient is in supine prior to undergoing a surgical procedure.  (Please note, this is not my practice, I've observed this recently.)  Thank you.

That sounds like it would be painful postop. I have chronic Achilles tendonitis, and I'm certain it would cause problems for me.

sounds like a way to keep pressure off of the heel? if it's soft enough, like *really* soft, I wouldn't see a problem. The calve muscles are generally flaccid and the tendon is completely slack.
