Thoughts on the different ways to complete the program?

Hello all I see that there Is three different ways to complete the program; challenge, independent study, traditional coursework. Any thoughts on the different methods? Pros and cons etc

The courses weren't available when I did EC's ADN program, but I think I would have gone with the test-out/exam method anyway. It's less expensive and I didn't need the structure of a course, I was good at maintaining motivation without external responsibility. I am also a good test taker in general.

I think courses are a great option for people who need structure, who have been unsuccessful with the exam method, or who need financial aid (the courses qualify, exams don't).

Either way, it's nice that EC has developed some options!

The exam method is also what I believe im going to go with. I also test very well and in the past have used CLEP to satisfy gen ed requirements. How do you go about studying for the UExcel exams? When I did CLEP I never read the full textbooks as the time just wasn't there, instead I researched the general concepts of the exam. Would a similar strategy meet success in the Excelsior program or is reading the textbook in entirety a must?

I think the uxcel tests are pretty similar to clep or dantes. I'm paying straight up so I'm only taking exams and I took the life span with dantes. It was pretty straight forward. Did transitions with study group 101 and I'm working on health safety now. I'm gonna do the information one with tor college because its alot cheaper.
