Thorazine for hiccups

I am writing a paper for school. The patient had the hiccups pretty bad and we gave the patient Thorazine. Does anyone know the rationale behind this? How it works, or why it works? I have looked in all my drug books and searched the net but can't find anything other than it is used for treatment of hiccups. Thanks for your help. :)
