Thomas Edison State University- ABSN Fall 2020

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has applied to this program for the October fall 2020 cohort, and where along in the application process are they?

Best,

The online TEAS is now open on their website!

Hey, I registered for the online TEAS last week. Very anxious but will spend my time continuing to study and hope for the best. Good luck to anyone else who is taking the TEAS.

I am wondering if anyone has an idea if you can test out of Nutrution with a TECEP exam for this program.

Hey have you guys already registered for the online proctored TEAS exam? Thomas Edison sent out an email saying that they will also be offering the exam.

I registered for the May 16th webinar but I highly doubt that I will be able to attend. If anyone attends can you please share on this thread how it goes and what questions were discussed as it pertains to the program and the fall 2020 cohort?

Also @Judith Laster I think that is a question you would have to ask the school. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. If you find out please share here for others who might have wondered the same question.

I just applied via NCAS! @Nursebecky I took the TEAS exam online. I emailed Vicki with my dates and it was pretty easy from there.

Has anyone else applied already? Do you know if they will wait till after July 1 to interview/make decisions or will they do it on a rolling basis?

Awesome! How was the TEAS? I know they require a 70% overall. I haven’t heard anything yet about interviews either. I take the exam on the 28th but I think once you are done with the exam you should know

@jb02359 the TEAS was pretty fair! I studied for a week only (procrastinated but then had to cram). the science section was like a final exam, you really need to know everything from anatomy and physiology. I just went over a lot of Youtube videos and I referenced my textbook from class. The reading and math were easy if you take a few practice exams to know the types of questions, but I thought the Grammar part was tricky. I also took the practice TEAS on the ATI website ($50) but it was extremely worth it. I scored basically the same on the actual test and it gives you feedback for every question.

OK awesome that is good to know! Thank you for your tips. I’m hoping interviews are around the corner. I remember the last webinar mentioned interviews would probably happen after July 1st

Hey, my TEAS exam is June 11th. I’m pretty scared for that.

@gabriela862, I know you already answered this, but can you say more about the exam ? So you said it’s similar to the online practice exam offered by ATI TEAS? In terms of the science portion was Chemistry a heavy tested subject ? Any tips you can give ?

Also I attended the May 16th Webinar. They said that they would start conducting interview last week of May beginning of June.

For all those who were wondering, I spoke to the school and all Science prerequisites must be taken in class.

@Nursebecky for the TEAS exam math and reading sections- the types of questions were the same! I used the TEAS Secrets book my mometrix and it was all I needed. The grammar was tricky because of the vocabulary. As for A&P I would read the TEAS secrets book and know most of the terms and organ systems. You really have to have a good grasp on it. The good news is that a few of the questions of each section are "unscored" but you don't know which ones. On the TEAS website there's a breakdown of how many science questions there are but yes it was the second biggest chunk, but not nearly as much as A&P. I would focus on the scientific method. If you take any practice tests you'll notice that the science is mostly that. I hope that helps! It's really not bad it's just a lot of material. Thanks for the info about the interviews!

@gabriela862 Thank you, this was very helpful. My last questions is about anatomy and physiology. Would you say the questions were the same, or similar to the Anatomy and Physiology 2007 online quiz provided by ATI TEAS on their website? I went through the exam and it seems to be good but I wouldn't want to base my studying on it if the questions were no were near those questions
