Hello. Anyone attending Thomas Edison State College (TESC), either the online RN-BSN program or the RN-BSN/MSN program? Saw a couple older posts when I did a search, but nothing current. Thanks!
Lizzie
I gather no one on allnurses is attending TESC for either the RN-BSN program or the MSN program. Seeing lots of views, but no replies.

I replied to another thread about TESC.....basically I was looking to apply to this one, but am put off by the exhorbitant application fee 75 dollar plus 300. "credential review fee", AND they charge you for transferring in credit to their institution...so the tuition is more like 300.00 per credit hour, as opposed to 165.00, as they advertise. Its a little bit back handed I think. I mean , just say your tuition is 300.00, instead of chargin me tuition for transferring in credits. How can you charge me AGAIN for classes I tool somewhere else. that should be illegal.
Thanks for replying. Please see my reply to you under the other thread. I never heard of charging extra for transferring in classes you have taken. I didn't see the $165, only that the out of state tuition for the RN-BSN program is $352 cr/hr.

I am thinking of doing the MSN program at TESC. Has anyone looked into this? Is anyone working on their MSN online?

tesc is a great program. the courses are challenging and relevant. i definitely recommend the program.
good luck
Thanks..but I was actually hoping for irrelevently easy. :)
Actually, I am taking my first class there now. Teacher is vague about instructions...so I get to learn by getting back corrections on my papers...go figure.

Can you tell me what the classes are like?? how much time is required for study time?? do they require group projects with others or can you do it on your own??What is the timeline for completing homework etc? what is a typical week in this school?? i am thinking of applying to start in January and would like to know what I am getting into.due to the high fee assoc with validating previous work and all. Would like to be sure before I spend that kind of money. I have previously attended UOP and the classwork was fine, but the group work was a nightmare as I usually had to do it all to ensure that my grade was good. How much reading is required and how long are the classes, is it possible to do two at once??
MONA B where are you?? Please give me some insight on this school or anyone else that is going there.
Just finished 3rd class. Its not hard, just time consuming. everything is turning in research papers. There are no group projects, and each 3 credit class ends up being a little over a 1000.00. It is the cheapeset, accredited school I have found. AND, you dont actually have to take statistics to get your BSN. Only if you want the MSN. Each class is 3 months. there are only 8 core nursing classes for the BSN degree.

TE is New Jersey's distance learning school. It's quite well respected in certain areas, but I honestly know nothing about their nursing program.
Thank you for the insight- Are the classes 12 weeks long?? Is there alot of reading in the classes?? when you say research papers how long do you have to complete these?? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to be sure I have chosen the right college.
