I am also at end of 2nd semester and i am thinking of quitting. My clinical instructor wants me to because i am too slow on paperwork, but fine everywhere else and doing well in theory. For some reason she does not like me. I have not given her cause to dislike me. She is a lot younger than me, if that makes a difference.
I heard teachers pick out people they don't like, is this true...?
i took test 3 today and got 90 and i did not start studying till last night on 3 wks of material. The bad news is i have to put up with clinical instructor according to advisor.....so i am back where i started.........of course the counselor defended the instructor. I thought i might be able to transfer to different clinical group with diff instructor but no luck, the counselor i just have to bit my lip and get through it Now its back to worrying myself sick again

I don't think it is common for teachers to do this, not saying yours isn't doing this, but to answer your question, I don't think this is the norm.
You shouldn't give up though, you have worked hard and come this far and shouldn't let one person bring you down. As far as your age, I was just looking at statistics on age and it said the average new nurse was 46.8 So I don't think you should count yourself out because of that either. Hang in there, the semester or quarter is almost over. Don't let someone else decide your fate. Try to improve on the areas that she is talking about and just keep going.
