there are no accredited LPN programs in my area. The closest one is 2 hours away. There are some programs here (Atlanta), but the are not accredited. Should I go to a non-accredited program?

I might consider it if I didn't have any other options but before I tried to get into an unaccredited school I would want to find out a few things. Like, what is the attrition rate and the NCLEX pass rate and I also would try to find a few students from the school to get the inside scoop on the teaching methods and course work. I also would want to know how long the program has been in existence. I can understand not being accredited if it's a new program but if the school has been around for ages and is not accredited that should tell you something.

I attended a non-accredited program and have had no problems with finding a job. However, credits may not transfer if you plan to go on to RN school one day.
