I am desperat to get in to an lpn degree program but everywhere there is a wait does anyone know of a place with no waiting list

Why not take your pre-reqs for RN while you are waiting its only one more year than LPN and better pay.

I know there is a one year program near my home with no pre-req's an no wait list for LPN but I live in PA.

In California, there are a lot of private schools that have no wait list for LPN school..And I mean there are a lot..The only thing they require is that you can pay and you are in..

Ottumwa and Centerville, Iowa. They just added new points of entery. You can enter in either Spring or Winter, daytime, night's or week-end programs. They are building a new health occupations building with labs in Ottumwa, and it should be up to open next year. They base acceptance on GPA , Compass score and early applications.

It depends here in Indiana. I go to Ivy Tech Community College and was accepted first time into the LPN program, but you have to take an entrance exam and have certain prerequisites completed. From there it goes by a point system (so keep those grades up). I gave up my spot though as I wait for the ASN program. I was told my one of my local and most reputable hospitals that while in the LPN program, hospitals (knowing your in the program) won't hire you because they know that you will be an LPN in one year. As an LPN they will only hire you for an LPN position, whether you are willing to take a pay cut or not while finishing the transition to ASN program. I then spoke with the Dean at my school who mentioned a lot of changes occurring in both programs that he could not go into great detail about but that I would be better off waiting for the ASN program if that was my goal. How it got so complicated I don't know, but I found out today that they have already implimented many of those changes, so be carefull, even if you do find a school that won't wait list you. Good Luck!

I am in upstate New York. I just got into a LPN program without a wait. It was a long process to get in. I had to take the NET, then get references, then write an essay, then do the interview. It took me a few months but I start classes in September. It is a Questar program. I hear it is very good. It works directly with the school year. I have off all snow days and holidays. I have two kids so this is great. It runs 8:30 to 3:00 five days a week. It ends in July. I can't wait. Now I have to try for financial aid. The program cost 8,200. I hope to get some aid. I filled out my FAFSA. Now I talk to a councilor. I am excited but very nervous. Colleen
