The Woman's Hospital of Texas

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hello. I was called today to interview for the labor and delivery unit at The Woman's Hospital of Texas and wanted some input regarding this hospital. For example benefits, pay for new nurses, grad nurse program, work environment, nurse-doctor relationship and etc. Any input would be great. Thanks Marly

PM me if you want, I can give you some details.

I'm new to this site and I am not sure how to send a pm. Can you tell me how to do that. Thanks

It's not letting me send a PM either, so oh well. Someone else was asking about new grad orientation--I know NICU and L&D do pretty extensive orientations. If you work postpartum, you'll float to nursery, antepartum, and med-surg. I'm not sure what the current new grad pay is, that's something the recruiter can tell you, but I think it's in the $24 area range for base, we do get $4.75 nights diff, and $2.50 bedside diff. Maybe NICU gets some critical care diff, I'm not sure. Weekend and holidays are a $1 extra. Our L&D is busy, and they do seem to hire a lot of new grads. Parking is free....lets see...what else? I'd probably look at Hermann or St. Luke's as a new grad...Women's is a small hospital.

Oh I'm jealous! Good luck on your interview.:wlcmhnds:

Thanks for the info and the luck for the interview.
