Got accepted yesterday! Still waiting to hear back from UTHealth. Anyone who has been accepted to both, what school did you decide on and why?

I don't really have a preference because I didn't do much research on either schools but the drives are 50 mins (UTMB) vs 25 (UTHealth) for me so that's the only factor I can compare.

Thanks!

If you got into UTHealth as well, what school are you leaning towards and why?

Congrats!!!

UTMB is my first choice. I went to tour during their open house and the atmosphere felt so at home and where I should be. UT Health is a good school as well though. I have a friend who got accepted at both but she chose UTHealth because of the commute.

I got accepted to both! I decided on UTMB over UTH just because of the atmosphere and faculty. I did visit both schools and UTMB was so lovely...just a feeling/experience I felt (can't really explain). Also, the NCLEX pass rate has been higher at UTMB - percentage wise and my cousins and siblings went to UTMB and loved it.

But it is a longer commute!

For those waiting still,  I planned on reaching out to Sam on Monday to see if there are any updates

If you don't mind me asking what were your stats?

Prerequisites GPA: 3.69

Overall GPA: 3.4

science GPA: 3.4

TEAS: 76 (I was super worried about this)

Some volunteer hours, no certification or hospital experience. I submitted resume even though it was not required & I poured my heart out into my personal statement.

Did someone created a Facebook group for our cohort?
