The University of Texas at Austin | Alternate Entry Master of Science in Nursing (AE-MSN) 2024

Hi there,

I commented on last year's thread because I wasn't able to make a topic, but I figured out how to make one and so I wanted to post for people applying to next year's cohort.

Is there anyone currently in their PC-PNP program that would be willing to chat with me about the likelihood of acceptance?

Is anyone else applying to that program? Or to the other ones?

I haven't recieved any emails and when I contacted them they said everyone is interviewing at different times but by the end of the year. If everyone has heard something I am going to reach out again.

Be sure to check your spam/junk folder too! I've heard people have found the emails there.

Congrats on getting an interview! If you wouldn't mind sharing, what do you plan to do with your Leads MSN degree?

Using that as a "foundation" to then apply for CRNA school once I've done my work as a staff nurse for 2 years ! ?

Hi everyone,

I applied for the PMHNP track and just got an email with an interview offer. It says it's at 1:30am??? Did anyone else get the email?

I'm sure it's a typo. I would contact (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) to confirm.

Congrats!! and good luck ?

I received an interview invite as well for the PCPNP. Does anyone have any idea what type of questions they asked?

Is everyone interviewing in person?? Just curious...

I applied to the PCPNP program and was offered to transfer my application to the LeaDS program. I'm really wanting to be more patient facing than ending up in education or administration. Any previous graduates have success with the LeaDS program resulting in a patient facing role post graduation? Or willing to connect me with someone that has?

@HeatherS01I'm sure you can contact the office and see if there is a short bridge program that allows you to sit for APRN NCLEX for your desired specialty. I remember talking to them about that in the Summer. They suggested I had better odds for LEADS and figured I'd might as well figure out what doors that may open.

As you may know, the LEADS program would allow you to obtain an MSN and sit for the NCLEX-RN if you are not currently an RN. I'm certain there must be a way to get a certification or in a bridge program to a specialization for APRN (NP) after successful completion of LEADS. The obstacle that would be in your way would be being able to practice as a NP, however there should be a path to this.

Hey Everyone!

So happy I came across this thread! I received an in-person interview invite on Tuesday 15/5 along with a background check/fingerprinting request. I applied to AG-CNS, fingers crossed all goes well! Good luck to everyone!
