The University of North Alabama FNP

Updated:   Published

I am looking at several FNP programs in Alabama, but can't find much on the University of North Alabama other than the website. Has anyone heard anything about the FNP program? It is very affordable ($12,900 tuition), not for profit, and CCNE accredited, so I am wondering why this school's masters program is not discussed on here. Does it have a bad reputation? Thank you for any insight or information!

I am looking to apply for Spring 2024 after I finish my MSN. Please keep us updated on how it goes and if the program is good. Thanks for the info so far.

Are you starting in October? I had the 3 P's in my MSN so I don't need to start in August, but I don't graduate until August 21, so I won't hear if I got in until then.
I work for the government, and found out I get 33% off tuition and that sealed the deal for me.

the program looks very straightforward and no extra touchy-feely theory mumbo-jumbo which I love! Good luck to you! Maybe I will see you at the on-site required trips?

Yes, I'll be starting classes on the Oct/Nov. start date. I'll be at the November on site training unless I end up getting accepted into the University of Alabama. I was supposed to know last week if I got accepted there or not. So I'm hoping this week I'll hear something because the deadline at UNA to register for classes is quickly approaching.

Just finished my 1st class (patho), and taking pharm the 2nd 8 weeks. Not bad at all so far. Seems like a decent straightforward program.

Hi! How are you liking the UNA FNP program so far? I was just accepted for fall of this year.

@jennyd,

I really like it. Almost finished with my 2nd class and it has not been bad at all. I take 2 classes per semester in 8 week terms each, so you are only really taking 1 at a time, but at end of semester have 6 hours done. No papers to write so far, only tests and discussions.

@mhmnursedaisy86 Did you start the program at UNA? If so, can you share some feedback. I got accepted for Fall 2024. Thank you in advance.
