Hi everybody, I thought I'd create a thread for those who are applying to the UBC BSN program for the 2023 application cycle. Please feel free to drop any questions and share your background/experiences! ?

I don't necessarily think it's purely by GPA. Someone here got accepted today with an 83% which I also have (I haven't received anything yet) so I think it has more to do with each applicant's overall application than just their grades. I also saw somewhere here that they may be going in alphabetical order which I would normally find odd, but this year seems to be different. Since offers are being emailed manually by the advisors/student services manager instead of it being automated like it usually is, this could be possible as they would want to send out offers in some sort of orderly fashion. Now the real question is whether they're sending more acceptances tomorrow or if they were all sent out today. Has anybody at the end of the alphabet heard back yet?

By admission grade, I believe they were referring to overall admission score - not GPA. I don't think it was in order of last name.

My stats were:
GPA: 3.84/4.33 (last 30 credits), 3.95/4.33 overall.
CASPer: 4th quartile (top 25%)
Supplemental: unknown, felt quite strong though due to prehospital care work, awards and and extracurriculars. Previous bachelor of arts degree, no science background.

Yes exactly, admission score is a combination of GPA, supplemental application essays, and your score on the CASPer exam. I believe that admissions gives people a ranking based off of these three things and that's how they determine the admission grade. So the highest scoring applicant would be 1, then 2, then 3 all the way up to 150 for all the seats, and the the waitlist. I think it makes the most sense that they would send out acceptance emails based upon the applicants ranking. And unless an advisor told someone that more acceptance emails are going out tomorrow, then we can't really know. But there is still hope. They started sending them fairly late in the evening, so it is plausible they resume tomorrow.
Hi! Got my acceptance at 7:04pm (19:04), my last name is in the middle of the alphabet. Was surprised that it came that late! The email didn't show my stats but I'll talk about them here for anyone curious:
GPA: 3.997, 91.31% (However, my institution did not put percentages on my transcript, I think UBC converted the percentage to 85.15%).
Casper: 4th quartile (Top 25%)
Supplemental: I will keep this one off of the public forum for privacy reasons! Though I will say that I am a third year in standing and I have little research or clinical experience. My credits were scattered as well, I used transcripts from 3 different institutions and for different programs.
To anyone who did not receive an email tonight, things will be okay. Keep your head up! Nursing is insanely hard to get into in BC - I was also waitlisted from this program last year, I know the feeling quite well. Whatever UBC decides for you is not a measure of your ability to become a nurse. If you think that it is for you, keep going! I believe in you ❤️
Anyway, I am open to answering questions and giving advice! Just @ me or reply to this message, I'll have notifications for it turned on. If it is possible to DM on this site too, that would be OK! Just reach out ? I am also familiar with Langara's nursing program and could answer a few questions about that too, if anyone is curious.
A part of me is still hopeful that we'd get a few more offers tomorrow. Since they are being sent out manually by real people this year, I'm not sure if a ~2 hour period was enough for them to send out all 150 offers. I have a 3.85 (83%) GPA and 4th quartile (top 25%) in CASPER which seems alright, so finger crossed that my supplemental is good enough to get me accepted/waitlisted with a low number tomorrow. I'm so happy for all of you that got in and I'm praying for all of us who are still waiting ♥️

Yes, in the same boat. I'd give it a few business days. I somehow got into the 2022 cohort canvas shell though, I think I got an old link.
Edit: new link has been issued, check your emails.

Seems that way...unless the send out more acceptances in the morning? Who knows. It seems like such an odd choice of time to send out offers.
