Ambulances are being diverted. Critical care patients being transferred, and if you believe the media staff (physicians and nurses) are leaving. Despite being ordered by a judge to keep staffing proper staffing levels, it seems SUNY Downstate is determined to shut Long Island College Hospital one way or another. Even if it means starving the place to death.

I'm hoping to attend SUNY Downstate in a year for my accelerated BSN. Hopefully this doesn't affect it

Same here, I'm looking into going to Downstate for Nurse-Midwifery
Don't think Downstate is going anywhere, indeed that seems to be where the problems are; SUNY cannot afford both hospitals and on some levels it would make sense to keep LICH campus instead of DS which is right across the street from another HUGE hospital, the trustees want to save the latter.
