I think there are many positive expects to being an RN. First of all, I have the ability to make a difference every single day I go to work, how many people can say that?
I also learn something new everyday, new med, new treatment, new procedure, new product, or my patients tell me something new and exciting.
I meet all kinds of people and have improved my ability to cope in all situations, my communication skills have improved and my listening skills have also improved.
I love to teach and find that students are eager to learn from a clinical nurse who puts no pressure on them, I am not your instructor so if you do not know the answer we will find it together.
I find it to be the best and sometimes the worse job but I make decent money, I have health insurance and a 401 K and an educational fund if I choose to use it and many other benefits.
The question is if you are askiing yourself what are the positives of nursing do you really belong in nursing?
Those are the kinds of positives I am looking for in a career and I know the field of nursing can help fullfill all those aspects I am trying to obtain. I am so excited about my journey and my new career!!
