This feels so surreal to me. Ever since i graduated highschool 2 years ago, ive been saying "I want to get in the nursing program at SCCC"... and after much hard work to claim my seat in the program, and even months after i got my acceptance letter, i am still like..WOW is this really happening? I just got my uniform, and started reading one of the [many] textbooks.. and today i finally got my steth & penlight & all that jazz. But i still feel like im taking it all in. Am i actually on my way to being a nurse?!! How is it possible that in 2 years I will have the knowledge & ability [if all goes well..] to be a nurse??!... I think what is most shocking today is that I have 3 weeks left of summer...and all of my "pre-" things are finished. The next thing will be to go to my first nursing class on August 25th.

I hope that in 2 years I can look back on how i feel now, and think..hey look how terrified i was.. but i got through it, and it was worth it.

Actually, I take that back.. when i bought my nursing pants they ran out of petite sizes, so i have to bring them somewhere to get them shortened. Lol.... So i do have to do ONE final thing to do before i start classes. Its always such a pain to buy pants when ure legs are short.. :wink2:

Anyway, this isnt really about anything important. I just wanted to share my jitters with the rest of you!:rolleyes:

Whew! Sounds exciting! I feel like I've been planning forever since I'm just now finishing my GE, but I won't be done with pre-req's until next summer. And then I have to wait to get in! So here I am just daydreaming away on allnurses every day. Congratulations on actually getting started! Seems so long away for me. Good Luck! :nmbrn:

OhI sooo know what you mean...I have orientation next Thursday ...skills test on Friday and classes sstart the next Monday the 18th! I feel like I have waited so long for this to happen now time is just dragging by in slow-mo.I am lucky though I guess as I still have a couple things to do while waiting , keeping me distracted ..finish up on vaccines and get my last few books and what not~
