I have just purchased a NET study guide, and going through the threads here I haven't seen anything about any analogies on the exams that they took. In the study guide it has a huge section regarding analogies (which scares me!!!) Does anyone know if there are analogies on the NET exam?
Please help me!!!!

There is a comprehension section. You will be given objectives with multiple choice answers such as find the main idea, or a negative question like what is the opposite of the main idea. The paragraphs follow a consecutive story format. Making analogies is good practice for formulating concepts which is basically what is happening here. They're testing your comprehension and your critical thinking abilities.
Don't do what I did. I failed to read the instructions for each paragraph (which were different). I just went my merry way not bothering thinking that there was one blanket instruction. I was pretty far into the section before I realized that each section required a different objective. Everything worked out ok anyway. It wasn't an entrance exam for us. Just a test of our strengths and weaknesses.
Good luck on your test and don't let the analogies scare you. Fear is your biggest enemy. It takes up too much brain space!

Oh my god! I wonder if I did that too? :chuckle I guess it doesn't matter now, but good advice for those anticipating any test.
