Please give me your tips and tools for preparing for the Hesi. We have to have a 900 to graduate. I know from previous students some end up having to re-take the Hesi up to 3 times before passing. I would like to avoid the torture of dealing with it more than once. I appreciate all suggestions!

Well the first thing I would advise, after you do a simple review of content........make sure you read, understand, and learn the test taking strategies in Chapter 5 of the Saunders NCLEX!!!! I had to retake the Exit and had I utilized those strategies I probably would not had to retake it. From experience I will say stay calm, don't stress, and relax as much as you can the day before the test.

RituK, that is the Hesi A2 Entrance exam. Not the exit.

I took the exam last semester and got 900+ on the first try. I only used 2 things. I used the HESI comprehensive Review book...

and PrepU...

The HESI Comprehensive Review book is produced by the company that puts out the HESIs. There are no questions in the book. Just bullet pointed need to know facts. There is an online access code that comes with the book that provides you with questions and practice HESIs. DO THE QUESTIONS! They are very similar to the questions on the HESI and you may see some on the exam! Also throughout the book they have what they call "HESI HINTS", READ THEM! There is a reason why they single those facts out as being important!
The PrepU NCLEX 10,000 is a very useful online question bank. You can select what topics you would like to be tested over and it will produce an quiz for you. Once you are done it will give you the rationales to all of the questions (not just the ones you get wrong). Once you are done reviewing the rationales you are given the option of taking another quiz that specifically targets your weakest areas. I have found that the questions on PrepU are more difficult than what is found on the HESI. Good Luck! :)
