Who feels that their agency is the best and why?
What advice would you give to a nurse thinking about becoming a traveling nurse?

As a nurse of 12 years, my recommendation would be to talk to other nurses who have recently traveled (on here and in person). Those I have spoken to that have traveled extensively have told me it was all in the representative they have at the agency. That they have worked at same agency with different rep and one rep would take care of issues pronto and other would never hear from. Also inquiry to others about questions you should ask? I know one of the things I hear the most is to ask about the area of town you will be in. A friend of mine went to Miami through an agency that the hospital actually had dorms with congregate kitchens for travelers, but you had to work 60 hours per week. She said money was great and having a room right in the hospital worked great, she worked, ate, and slept.
Good luck

I have two favorites from when I travelled:
Bridge Staffing-the only agency I worked for where my recruiter actually called me weekly to check on me and see how I was doing.
Global RN-pay was always correct. They never tried to get me to share an apt or car. Some will...

The best agencies are going to vary, based on what your specialty is and which location that you wish to work in. So ti can be different for two different nurses. And also what their requirements are.
All I can add, is do your homework. Do not rely strictly on one person. So your homework for facility placement, as well as agency, as well as recruiter. All three have to be in order for the assignment to be good. One, without the other two, just doesn't work.

I'm with Trinity Healthcare Staffing and couldn't be happier!!! Other great companies are Cirrus Medical, Abetta Care, Bridge Staffing, Nursing Innovations, Across America Med Staffing, and Medical Solutions. These are smaller companies that give you more personalized services.
