TMB hope she came home and the pancreatitis settled down

Stars that's good that the family is bringing food

NJ22 sounds like you  had a busy day

Dianah it's a 2 foot flocked tree, should be able to fit a couple ornaments

Was hoping to leave early at work, but there was a little too much work for that.  Was slow enough that I was able to do laundry towards the end of the work day

Rest of the day was pretty quiet, made a stop at the credit union and exercised.  Avoided the stores, as I usually do before Thanksgiving

Still no work on if the car is ready, so it seems  it will be next week before I can get that all squared away

Today will get out for a hike in the morning.  Then will drive to my cousin's later for Thanksgiving. Will be a smaller group than Christmas as my sister and her family are doing Thanksgiving with her mother in law as usual.  And as usual  will watch A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving once I get home

Another fairly cool day here in the upper 40s

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

NPR had an article today about the 50th Anniversary of the Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.

I'm trying not to eat much to save room for lunch at 12:00 (not too early for me) but I'm already getting hungry.  LOL. Just my best friend and I are going to one of the beach resorts that has a good buffet.  I like having some variety in addition to traditional food.

A "cold front" came through and it's in the 50's now but will get to the upper 60's which is cooler than normal for this time of year.

Good Thanksgiving Afternoon! (Gobble-gobble!) I am thankful for a lot of things today: good friends here on-line, good neighbors, a good roof over my head, and MANY other things. In spite of all the events of the past year, I am thankful to be weathering it fairly well, all things considered (and there's a lot of that!).

Soooooo, I did try to keep to my vow to turn in by 1 AM, but it was actually 1:35 AM when I turned out my light last night. My mind was running around erratically, so I wasn't asleep yet when Momo started having a 'reverse-sneeze' attack. Good thing I knew what it was, otherwise I would've thought I needed to bring her to the after hours and holiday emergency animal clinic. But it went on for 1/2 an hour! Not as vigorous as the spells Pippy used to have, but it went on for longer. At least Momo wasn't shaking and scared; but she did keep looking at me while it was going on, like, "Can't you do something about this?"

Anyway, she finally slowed down and it stopped, so she and I could finally go to sleep, as we both were quite worn out; that was about 2:45 AM. Then my phone rang at 6 AM, with a neighbor wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving. Uh, okay, but at 6 AM???

Then the phone rang at 8:45 AM and it was the across-the-street neighbor saying they would probably have food ready by 1 to 1:30 PM, if we wanted a couple of plates, to come on over. They are having a smoked turkey and some ham, in addition to the other stuff. Truthfully I kind of like their cooking; not that SiL is bad, it is just the same things every Holiday meal she ever makes. So, now I will have OPTIONS! The phone also rang at 9AM, and then 9:30 AM, with texts. I got a little bit more sleep, but around 11:15 AM I thought I should probably get up and get dressed.

When I came down with Momo on my heels, I saw that Nannie's bedroom door was open and she had got up and made it (haven't checked it for pee yet). She was dressed and ready to come out to her recliner. She had her yogurt and meds, and Momo had her breakfast and used her underpad to take care of business. I am having my 2nd cup of coffee. So here we sit.

The sun is very...yes...BRIGHT. It is supposed to be 60 today, 59 tomorrow and 53 on Saturday, partly cloudy, but no rain. Certainly there is no shopping planned, but I do still need to wash the utensils. And probably some laundry. NO to football games, though. Maybe there is a channel where they will show one of the T-Day Parades, I dunno. Both the dog and the Nannie are resting with their eyes closed and  I'm determined to keep mine open!

Pretty soon I will trot across the street to pick up free food ?.

Hope everyone's day goes well---

Later, y'all!

Nannie scarfed down the food BiL brought over, and I hogged a lot of the food from across the street, And we still have plenty of leftovers! Good stuff! I ate a couple of cloves of garlic; it is sad because I LOVE garlic, but I can't smell or taste it anymore. But I know garlic is good for ya, plus I don't have anyone who will be offended by my breath, because I don't get too close to anyone, and Momo could not care any less; she even tolerates if I pass gas in bed and she is sleeping right up against my fanny!

We watched the Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, and then switched over to House Hunters. Nannie felt obliged to 'explain' a lot of things going on during the parade, which it would be too difficult to recount for y'all here, but it was quite baffling and out of left-field! Then after I changed the channel, suddenly it was HER who helped fix up the houses as we watched them tear down things inside, fix and decorate various homes.  Then it was her feet (last operation on her feet was 76 years ago) and how she was able to help the guys anyway. The workmen and contractors were very nice to her even though she was a cripple, she said. ? Still the little crippled girl in her mind. She told me what a mess they made while they were demolishing things, and how she helped them clean up. Also that the wife of the couple cried because she soooo liked the decorations Nannie put together for their 'new' home. Phew! You may remember when we were watching baseball games she was worrying about getting to the field in time to help them score more and better. She apparently has a very busy internal life up in that swiss-cheese brain of hers. I still can't follow a lot of her words because there were many moments of: "Oh, I can't remember the word, but you know..." followed by a lot of hand gestures as if they made sense of what she was telling me. I say "Uh-huh," and "Yeah" a lot and wait for when she peters out and I can take the TV off mute and listen to the programs myself. At one point, she said "See them running around?" I told her, "Nannie, I am sitting here watching the same TV program as you are, so you don't need to point it out as it happens and explain things to me!"

She requested to go to bed around 9:40 PM, which I was glad to help her do. But after she left the bathroom, when I got her seated on her bed, she said, "Oooh, it's coming out; it feels like it is half-way hanging out!"....so back to the bathroom. nothing was hanging half-way out, so it was back to bed a second time. "it was a lovely way, to end an evening" as the song goes.

Next week I have to take Momo to the vet, as she is due for a flea treatment and to have her toenails trimmed. Plus I have to ask how much to feed her, as she has gotten rather fattish in the six weeks she's been here! Ya don't need a chihuahua to be approaching obese! I will need to cut down the size of her meals I guess; maybe feed her smaller meals three times a day instead of big meals twice a day, with her bedtime snack. I dunno; I ain't nevah owned a teeny-tiny dog before, so I need guidance!

Momo says it is time to get up stairs for her snack, so since this last reveal of the home programs, we will do just that.

I'm going to gather my goods and go upstairs to wind down.

No Stars, good you got at least ONE T-giving meal!  I can imagine Nannie's commentary is WAAAAAAY "out there!"  Give Momo pats for me.

We picked up oldest ds and arrived early, and still had about a 30 min wait for our 4:45 reservation.  It was a limited menu today: either turkey w/stuffing, ham, or prime rib.  Choice of two sides from a list of seven, which was reduced to three choices by the time we ordered: mashed taters 'n gravy, mixture of veggies ("autumn feast"), or mac 'n cheese.  Kinda made the choosing easy, KWIM?  They were VERY busy, and the service was kinda slow, for which our server apologized twice.  No worries, we were there to visit as well as eat.  The food was good (we took home half), and we did enjoy chatting with ds.   The Mac 'n Cheese had some pepper jack cheese mixed it, so it had a little "kick" to it!  Later we dropped ds off and went in for a few more minutes of chatting.  He's a good kid. ?  But I'm biased.

Should sleep well tonight (hope to, anyway).  Got to clean litterboxes and then will relax in The Cave (bedroom).

Have a good evening!
