Thank you everyone! How I passed my TEAS-V

Published

Thank you to everyone who posted information about what to expect on the TEAS-V! I took my test today and scored in the 92 percentile!

For someone who has not taken biology and chemistry since freshman and sophomore years of high school (TEN YEARS AGO) I was terrified I was going to bomb the TEAS-V. In addition to being totally out of practice with all of these concepts, I only had FIVE DAYS to study for my exam! Not really having the money to spend on a TEAS-V study manual, I turned to allnurses.com to give me an idea of what to study.

I looked under the thread How I study for the TEAS-V and came across a post by someone who re-posted a comment by Pokemon outlining all the important concepts they remembered from the TEAS-V. I then googled all of those concepts and made note cards (A pack and a half worth!) with the important information I found. I also looked through the thread to see if other people commented stating specific things they remembered from the test and googled those concepts. Finally, I watched videos on Khan Academy. com to help clarify anything I was confused about.

I studied these note cards and surprisingly did relatively well (77%) on the science section. I will admit though that I still found the science section to be difficult. The questions were based on the concepts I studied but some questions asked about details I didn't necessarily know. However, I was able to use the information I had studied to make an educated guess about the correct answer.

Again, thank you so much for all the tips you have posted! I'd love to answer any questions you have about the test, specific things I studied, etc.

I'm so happy I'll be starting my nursing program in September!!
