A book that's really easy to read is: Fluids & Electrolytes Made Incredibly Easy by Springhouse Publishing. I hope that helps.

The book you mentioned is the one I checked on the Amazon.com and was wondering if it was good...

Do you think you get enough knowledge from it? enough for future nursing profession? Or is it just for starting?

I am a second year nursing student in a university (4 year course).

We don't really learn this area, fluids and electrolytes, deeply in Japan. I heard that in north America nursing students do learn it very well and also quite important for their future profession. Big difference... :rolleyes:

The Made Incredibly Easy books are great. That seems like a good idea for you.

I'm in my 3rd year, and use some of those books. They're easy to follow, but they're not so easy you don't learn anything.

You could always buy one on Ebay to see if you like it.

Well, it's a good book to get started with. I would not suggest totally relying on it alone if you're planning on actually using it in patient practice. Another really good book that is more indepth is: Fluids & Electrolytes With Clinical Applications: A Programmed Approach, by Kee et al. I remember using a website in my studies as well- I'll post a link for you here when I find it again- very helpful in understanding Acid/Base balance.

I looked for those books in the biggest bookstore in my area (a big city), but they don't have many English medical&nursing books. I can't take a look at them here in Japan unless I buy it from Amazon.

However, "made incredibly easy" series seem like good texts for students from what I read here and on Amazon.com customers' comments.

I heard they are publishing 3rd edition in October though (This is always a trouble when buying text books...)

When I read other threads, I am quite surprised at how nursing students are different from those in my uni...you guys seem much more enthusiastic in studying...what is expected of nursing students is a bit different in my country, I guess. like amount of medical&science knowledge...

Anyway, I will check on this site once in a while to encourage myself to study more.

The made easy books are great. Fluid and electrolytes kicked most of the students in my class a@$. But the book was very helpful. Just out of curiosity...How different is the schooling for nursing from your country to the USA? Good luck in shcool.
