I'm totally new to this and I am amazed at all the information this web site provides! Is anyone else on here going to be applying for the TTU Traditional Nursing Program for the Fall 2012 semester? Also, I need to take intro to nursing and pathophysiology this Spring. Is it best just to take it at Tech? Any input would be most helpful!
okay guys I was not accepted unfortunately ;/ i guess by GPA and experience was not enough.. My GPA was a 3.17 . So if you all can give me tips on how you got in it would be great so that I can prepare for next year! Congrats again to those who got accepted!
I am so sorry to hear that, but don't give up!! My friend also didn't get accepted! I would try to raise up your GPA, possibly retake a science course if you received an B or a C. I didn't have any volunteer or work experience, but I believe what helped me was having a 4.0 in my sciences and an overall good GPA. Are you going to apply to UTEP, they have applications twice a year for their nursing program?
I'm sorry to hear that also...and I agree, don't give up! I do know that I was told that the essay was very important. I was told it was like their interview with you (the essay). I hope this helps!okay guys I was not accepted unfortunately ;/ i guess by GPA and experience was not enough.. My GPA was a 3.17 . Great! I checked out a few apartments last year, there are a lot. Some over the top and some just looked infested, haha. I am only looking at houses due to the extent of time living in Lubbock, my brother's program is 4 years, plus the market is VERY cheap. Hopefully, we will find property with room for a renter to aid with the house note and other expenses. As you know, I don't live there, but Tech feels like home. I love the system and cannot wait to be there! Currently, I live 8 hours away! lol Yes, its a long drive and going to be a longer move. For me the drive gets interesting around the last stretch of US-84, when the windmills start popping up! I still haven't gotten my official e-mail yet.. :uhoh21: But of course, I'll let ya know when I do!Wow, I missed a lot of action yesterday!
Yeah, my mom is going to go with me april 19th and 20th when I go to visit tech! I still have not gotten my formal offer. Booo I can't wait to finally go visit!! If I go we should meet up at orientation!! Tha't pretty cool that your brother will be going to the same schoool as you because it is always nice to have family! :) A house would def have less noise than an apartment (this is one of the things I am worried about)! Anywho happy easter monday!

Your right, its almost always better with family! I believe you, pgevedon, and I STILL haven't received our formal e-mail yet... My impatience is growing. Haha. As for housing, there are plenty of upsides to getting an apartment. Defiantly easier to meet new people! Of course I will probably have to spend almost every waking moment studying, lol. Anyways we should absolutely meet up at orientation! I can't wait to meet my fellow Lubbock nursing students! Happy Easter to you too!
@pgevedon I am going to go to the Abilene campus.I checked my merlin thing and it still says I have no status. Is there anyone else who has received an initial acceptance email, but doesn't have a status on Merlin? It worried me a bit when I saw it.
I believe Merlin is working now, it showed status and allowed me to to pay the placement fee:)

AGG I am starting to worry a bit about our formal offers. I am sure we will get it some time this week! I have checked my email multiple times-- fearing that perhaps I did not get in after all. lol Oh btw my name is Sarah. I don't think I really ever 'introduced' myself. Do you know if there is just one orientation for all of the nursing students? I mean there are just 120 of us :) I can't wait to meet everyone at orientation!! I am like 95% sure I am going to tech now!! YESSS We will have many days of studying ahead of us! But I am sure we can do it! I actually had to take pharmacology at UTA so I still have my book, notes, and video lectures which I am more than willing to share if they actually prove useful for our second semester!! I think our best bet is to start studying earlyyy!!
