Texas Tech Spring 2010 Hopeful!

Just sent my application a few days ago, for the 2nd degree nursing.

It seems nobody have mentioned TTU nursing, especially 2nd degree.

No a hot school to talk about?

Could somebody give me a hint how hard is it to get into this program? and is nursing school in TTU good or bad?

I applied the first week of October and have an interview set up for this week. I'm a little nervous and wonder what sort of questions to expect. I heard that last year they had around 160 applicants, interviewed 60 and accepted 30 but they have added faculty and are planning on accepting more this year? Has anyone else heard if this is correct? Good luck everyone!

Me too, I will have my interview this Friday morning

That seems quite tough for only 30 out of 160, but dont freak out, be confident that you can

Based on what I have noticed, they will interview around 20 this week, and I don't think they will interview more than 20 during the next interview, so if last year there were 60 interviewed, then this year there may be 40, that means whether they will accept more or not, you still have better chance to get in. Plus I always believe that they will first choose those from the first interview.

Thank you for your words of encouragement- I had the interview this morning, I didnt realize I had signed up for the very first interview slot. I was nervous and I am positive it showed :imbar - but they were very friendly . It goes pretty fast and they are just standard questions, nothing to trip you up. Oh and I wanted to tell you that they have 2 more days of interviews set up next month, so there will be more applicants. But, I heard they were looking to accept more students this year since they have increased staff.

Yup, there is another interview next month about 30 students. They accepted 40 last year in Austin, and for this year, they said they don't have a quota, but just accept as many as those who are qualified

LOL, thanks for replying, that makes me sure that I have a companion here.

Well, I think if people take time to prepare for this program, to know more about it whatever on line or from others, that means they are really interested in this program, and they care more about it than others who just know finishing application process is everything. The positive attitude is also what they examine during interviewing.

I just did and knew that I could, so nothing to worry about. If I am accepted, then that it is; if i was refused, it would also be a precious lesson leading me to a greater success in the future. If you really have a big heart, loss doesn't mean that bad, but can only make you stronger.

Anyway I believe you have done well, and you are brave, at least I won't be brave enough to be the first interview person
