Texas Tech RN-BSN pre-reqs

Hi all!

I'm interested in starting Texas Tech's RN-BSN program next January. I spoke to the admissions coordinator and she gave me a list of pre-reqs I would need to take, despite having a BA in a non-nursing field. The most confusing one was the English composition classes - confusing because I have a degree in English. She's going to speak to the head of the department next week to see if that could be reconsidered.

All in all, I would need to complete the US History 1 and 2 classes, 2 Government classes, the Life Span and Growth psych class and a nutrition class. I plan on CLEPping the US History classes and Life Span Growth class. But for the 2 Governement classes and the nutrition class, where can I take them? I live in Bell County so I was thinking about going to Temple College. Or possibly Austin Coummunity College.

Where did you guys go for your pre-reqs? For those in the program, how is it going for you?

I'm not in the program but am going to apply in march for the fall classes to start. I graduate in May. I finished all my pre reqs at Austin community college while taking my other classes.

If you go to the website under reqs all the numbers there are equivalent to ACC's course numbers since the two have an agreement. It doesn't matter whether you go to ACC or temple. I like going to ACC for more flexibility though and knowing that my courses will be accepted for sure because of the agreement.

Good luck

I was wondering where those course numbers came from. I'll check it out. Thanks!
