Texas Tech nursing program Summer and Fall 2018

Good evening,

I am applying to the summer'18 and fall'18 nursing programs of Texas Tech University. I am slightly panicking because GPA and healthcare experience.

I met with an advisor a week ago who told me the programs only accept 75 people, and the cut off for GPA varies.

here is my stats and background. I have a 3.5 overall GPA and a 3.75 science GPA. I passed the TEAS. I have HOSA experience, PALS, and a nurse aide experience all resulting in well over 209 hours of volunteer service. I currently volunteer at JPS hospital with the oncology department and clinic for 8 hours a week.

My question is: how likely does it seem for me to get in? Does anyone have friends who have been accepted with similar profiles? And if it were me against a 3.8 GPA with no health care back ground, would I be put first?

    Are you applying to the traditional BSN program? I applied for Spring 2018 and was accepted for contingent admission (if i pass my last two classes) with a lower GPA and an 86 TEAS score. I have no volunteer hrs or healthcare experience. Your GPAs are great and so is the fact that you have so many volunteer hours. I think you'll definitely get an interview, but you just need to make sure that you stay calm, answer their questions honestly and just be yourself.

    Hi I just graduated from Techs nursing program! Honestly I know a lot of people that got in with "worse"stats then that. They really look at the interview, even the Dean will say that's what they go off of. They just want to see you really want to be a nurse because it won't be eas. The people that interview are the professors the,selves, they are the nicest people ever, and want to see you succeed. GOOD LUCK

    I have a interview at the Abilene campus and i have a 3.56 overall gpa. Have you got a email about interviews yet? Mine is for summer 2018

    Can any of y'all give me some sort of timeline? I will be applying November 15, 2018 for the summer '19 program. After the application how long is the wait period for the interview, then an acceptance. Also I just took my TEAS and i got an over all of 72.2. Should i consider retaking it? My gpa is 3.5 science is 3.0 (still have micro and chem to take) I should by the time i apply have a higher gpa. How does all of that look?
