Texas Tech BSN 2 Spring 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

Hi,

I wanted to start a topic for the Spring 2013 applicants for the Texas Tech Second BSN program. Somewhere we can keep each other posted on the process as it nears. I have yet to take the TEAS V but i wonder if anyone else has taken it and what their score was. I have calculated my gpa's and i realize i will have a 3.59 pre-req gpa and a 3.66 science gpa. I am going to apply for the 2013 accelerated program and am very nervous about the upcoming process.

@Ladybug3:

What other schools are you applying to? And do you have a favorite?

I am starting to get worried... my first choice is Tech. I probably apply to the different 2nd degree programs they have, all except El Paso.

I've applied to uthsc Houston, Texas women's. I wanted to apply to more but they want all sciences completed before the application deadline so that keeps me out. What about you. And u shouldn't worry. When are you expected to hear something???

Which other schools require all sciences, that your interested? I have applied to TTU Austin and . I'm only interested in accelerated programs. I am worried because my GPA isn't all that great. It is at least the require 3.0. Its kinda sad how my final GPA at Tech was over 3.6_, I don't remember exactly what it was, but my BA is in Spanish and photography. I'm starting to get depressed, all the classes other than the science I did back when I was starting school and was taking care of my dad. My overall GPA doesn't reflect who I am now. (Sigh)

I completely agree. I'm so nervous. I really want this. I wanted to also apply to UH Victoria, UTHSC San Antonio

They do as far as sciences. They told me initially it wasn't required and then after I already payed for everything I found out they were wrong... I was upset

That would be annoying. What are you still needing?

I'm taking Ap2 right now. That's all

Congratulations on your TEAS, Ladybug3!! That's a great score. Yes, I started about 3 weeks ago, finished bootcamp and now taking pharmacology and health assessment, preparing for clinicals.

You'll find the program to be well organized. The faculty is professional, yet approachable. They will be your biggest cheerleaders. Things are fast paced the first few weeks, but things calm down after that. It definately requires that you have a flexible personal schedule. Clinicals start about 6 weeks into the program, but your clinical schedule is something you work out with your coach. You just have to put in a minimum number of hours each semester, roughly 18-20 twelve hour shifts per semester.

Good luck with the application!

thats terrible! in their defense they dont have an advisor at the houston location right now (which contributed to me not applying). tech is my first choice. I'm praying i get in. i take the teas wednesday.i made an 89 on the hesi but i'm hoping i do better on this one.

Yeah that was my fault for trying to get in as many options as possible. I listened to what the person on the phone told me thinking they would be knowledgeable about a basic question

I finally have everything turned in for the appliation. Now the waiting game begins. Good luck everyone!
