Texas Tech BSN-DNP Fall 2019

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello I was wondering if anybody else applied to the Texas Tech Fall 2019 BSN-DNP program.

Yes, It was on 3/6 @FutureNP__

i asked how many they are accepting and they didn’t have a specific number just said it varies on how many the professors think they can take on.

That’s early. They emailed me and said they weren’t doing interviews until April and decisions go out mid April.

They told me early April 8th we will get acceptance letters. But hopefully you get an interview too, best wishes! @FutureNP__

Man maybe I didn’t get pick and they going to give me a denial letter.

Positive thinking, they still may be doing interviews I have no clue. It ain’t over until it’s over and then try again. @FutureNP__

I had a Zoom interview 3/6 for PMHNP also and saw that there were only nine total applicants signed up to interview. Got my acceptance email 3/26. It sounds like they did PMHNP early and FNP is in a slightly later timeline. If anyone else got into PMHNP I would love to connect! Good luck to everyone:)

Congrats Christina! I applied with a 4.0 and glowing recommendations and didn’t even get an interview. They only took 5 students. I wonder why such a tiny amount? How much nursing experience do you have?

I’m sorry to hear that. I also applied with a 4.0 but I had graduated from TTUHSC’s accelerated undergraduate program so I don’t know if that worked in my favor that I was already an alumni. I currently work as an ICU nurse and previously worked as an active duty combat medic in the Army. I saw on the interview signs up that only nine people interviewed. How did you find out that they only accepted five students?

I also graduated from tech in the RN to BSN. Was a teacher for 10 years but have only been a nurse since August. I got my rejection email and they said there were 23 applicants and they only accepted five. Experience is the only thing I can guess even though they said it wasn’t even necessary. I wouldn’t have wasted my time or money if I had known otherwise. Wasn’t meant to be I suppose.

From the email I got they said it was the inaugural class so maybe that’s why they accepted so few students. Perhaps next year they will have more slots open for students. Don’t give up if this is your dream!!

Christina, I have an interview tomorrow on zoom. I'm guessing some people pulled out. What kinds of things did they address in the interview?
