Nursing Students School Programs

I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!

Hi, I work as a PCT but have not completed a full year yet. I worked as a PCT at a hospital in College Station and then recently moved and got hired at a different one in Dallas. Will that still count for the required CNA certification?

I contacted admissions and they said that as long as you have your supervisor sign a letter that indicates what your duties as a PCT are, they will evaluate and see if it meets the criteria. I asked because I am an EMT but since the roles are so different, I just got my CNA.

I will try doing that, thank you! ?

SO glad to find this thread! I am so nervous about the application process and getting accepted even though I have met all of the requirements. Anyone else applying to the Odessa cohort?

Hi y'all!

I'm applying for TTU's nursing program as well. My first choice is Austin, second choice is San Antonio. It's incredibly nerve wrecking! I'm just commenting so that I can stay in the loop of this forum. Sending prayers up for all of us. Good luck! ??

Hi everyone!

I am a student in the San Antonio Cohort and I just wanted to wish you all the best of luck in your application process. Let me know if you have any questions in the process or when you are preparing to start! You've got this!!

Hey everyone!

So I am applying for the Austin location. I am SO nervous, mainly because I am not CNA certified but am planning on starting this summer and having it completed in the fall. I still need to do medical terminology and pathophysiology and A&P II. I take my TEAS next week so fingers crossed that goes well. My science course GPA is 3.8. I feel like I have so much left to do!

Hi guys! I have a few questions about the application and I am hoping someone can help. In the academic history section do we only include the school where we received our bachelor's or do we have to include all schools we attended for credit even if we didn't earn a degree there? Also in the activities and distinctions section can I include community service I did with my service based sorority or would that be irrelevant? I don't have any other activities that are relevant to health care so I've been hesitant to include that in my application. Any feedback would be appreciated, thank you!

They all for all schools. I put the volunteer work I do with my kids.

Okay thank you! This might be a stupid question but do we also have to include high school in the academic history? Lol

Maybe I am missing something but does anyone know when we need to send in immunization records? Would this be after acceptance?

@amr151030 I asked Sonia about the immunizations! Her response was that immunizations will be required only once students have been accepted into the program.
