Texas State Round Rock Fall 2012

Published

Acceptance emails were sent out today (March 9th) for Texas State Nursing School in Round Rock for the Fall of 2012.

I am happy to say that I got an acceptance email!! So, I wanted to start a forum to start meeting other potential students!

I am waiting to hear from two other schools before I make a final decision on where to attend. I currently live in Houston, but I was raised in Austin and would love to move back! So I have some big decisions to make.

How many of you out there are in the same boat? I would love to hear from you!

Are there really no tx state nursing students our there?

I just got my acceptance email this past Friday as well.

Congrats Godstrong! Are you already in Austin/RR?

Hi there! My birthday was actually on March 9th and I was excited yet nervous about that day coming ever since I turned in my application in January. I was thinking to myself "If I didn't get in then I'm staying in bed the whole day." Fortunately I received an acceptance email at 10am and the actual letter arrived a few days later....Best Birthday EVER :)

I have already started my criminal background check when I received the FAST pass back in February and I received the blue post card stating that I'm clear. My immunizations are already taken care of since I did it last year thinking I was going to get into ACC's ADN program. Funny how things work out :) I just need that second TB test and I should be done with immunizations.

All I have left on the checklist is to submit the deposit by April 13th to hold my spot and complete both the CPR training and the physical.

I'm super excited and I can't wait to start!

Have you visited the Round Rock Campus Nursing School? It is beautiful! Whatever you decide as far as nursing school goes I'm sure it will be the best choice for you.

Best of luck and keep us posted! :)

After some confusion with my application, I just received notice that I was accepted! I'm still waiting on a couple other schools as well. I'm a bit worried because I'm unsure if I've received the Hep B vaccination before and it's already too late to have it done before the deadline!

lsk92-

I was somewhat in the same boat as you regarding my Hep B immunizations so I went to Promed by Lakeline Mall (In Cedar Park...I'm not sure if you are here is Austin/RR area) and I got a Hep B titer. Cost about $60 and it stated that I have antibodies for Hep B. That may be an option for you if you decide to go to Texas State's SON.

Hey guys! I was also accepted to Texas State! I have been waiting to hear back from 2 other schools before I make a final decision, but I also wanted to make some connections since I do not know anyone who will be going to Texas State. Does anyone have suggestions for apartment/places to live?

I was also accepted to Texas State for fall 2012, and am really excited to start the program! I'm curious to know if anyone else who will be attending this fall is a second degree student?

There is an apartment complex right across the street from the nursing school (you could walk to school if you wanted to and it would be less than 5 min). The apartment complex is called Fairway Knolls. My friend use to live there and she said it was really nice. Another apartment complex is down the street from the school (a 5 min drive, trust me I used to live there). It's called Melograno at Teravista. I really liked living there since everything is so close (school, gas stations, outlet mall-where we buy our TX State Scrubs, places to eat, jamba juice, starbucks, free birds, jimmy johns, etc.). Management is nice and my friend that used to live at Fairway Knolls is a leasing agent at Melograno. We decided to move not because we didn't like the place or area but we need a bigger place to live (I have 2 kids and a fiancé). When we first moved in (January 2010) for a 1 bedroom with walk-in closet/1 bath apt it was $650. Then we upgraded to a 1 bedroom with a "den" (actually a second bedroom-has a walk-in closet and window) and 1 bath for $869. We also rented out a detached garage for our car and excess stuff for $80. Melograno has a pond, gym, and pool. Oh and electricity is not regulated so you can choose any company you want (I miss that...we live in Austin now so we have to go through the city and pay way more than when we were living in Round Rock).

Let me know if you have any other questions....

Sorry for the long reply.

hi guys I was thinking of transferring to Texas State but I'm not sure how hard is it to get into the nursing program there right now. Any info would be appreciated I applied to the Adn program at ACC but it seems the waiting list is so long. So I was wondering how is it there in Texas State.

Wow guys!! Congratulations on getting accepted!!! I unfortunately did not make the cut... So I am reapplying for rolling admissions!! I think I spent half the day crying when I got the rejection letter. It's been horrifying. Now I gotta wait some more. :(
