Texas RN to Colorado License

U.S.A. Colorado

Published

Hello all! I plan to practice as a nurse in Colorado as soon as I get my license. Once I complete the NCLEX I am going to apply for licensure by endorsement with DORA. Does anyone know how long the process of transferring my TX RN license to CO will take before I can begin practicing as a nurse in Colorado?

Thank you!

Just received licensure in TX as well and looking to relocate to CO. I know we have the 90 days to practice via the NLC, but I have no idea if 90 days is long enough for it all to go through. Let me know if you find out any information! And, if I get info, I'll relay it to you as well! Best of luck!

To piggy back this...is it possible to move out of state and get a new license by endorsement if my school was not ACEN accredited? The BSN school was, but the RN school was only regionally accredited and approved by the board of nursing.

@EzRN6237 90 Days should be enough! I called DORA and they said it should be fine as long as you start the process as soon as you start working.

@Overcast Have you tried speaking with the nursing board in the state you plan to move to?

Thank you for the info!!! @MelodyStickrod
