Hello again,

I would love advice from experienced nurse aides who have gone on to become RNs. I'm still in college finishing up my pre-nursing courses so I can start my upper division in spring. I work full time and go to school full time, I think it would be smarter for me to go on and get a job in the hospital so I can be in the environment...I'm going to be in the CNA program offered by my college its like a 4 week program and I want to eventually quit my job and go to the hospital, does anyone know if the pay for starting cna's? In a hospital? I wanted to go to baylor to eventually do their internship as well. Is this a good plan? Please let me know!!! Thanks!

...wow, I would love to have a 4 week CNA program. Mine ended up lasting almost 8 MONTHS!...

I have no idea the pay in Dallas but here in north Texas toward Oklahoma its like $9-11 but thats a good idea you have. Best of luck. Have a blessed day

I've worked at Childrens Medical Center in Dallas and started off at 12.50 an hour in 2005 as a PCT. That's with only a couple of years of experience. God bless you with all your endeavors!!!!

Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington, TX - May 2009 OES Metropolitan and Nonmetropolitan Area Occupational Employment and Wage Estimates

Average is about $11.00 / Hr.

I got a Job in a hospital during the previous economic crisis. That job led directly to getting an LVN job at the same hospital as soon as I passed boards. The pay was better and the experience complemented my clinicals.

Thanks everyone for replying to me!!! It really helps!
