TCC Pre-Nursing Grade Requirements?

  1. So, I'm trying to figure out if I should retake the classes I took back when I was 18, young and dumb. I took them in a community college in a different state, psychology 101, and English 101 and I believe I got a C in both of them, maybe a low B in English. Since getting married, moving and having babies something pushed me to go back to school and keep a 4.0 GPA. I REALLY would love to get into the nursing program at Tarrant County College that I have maintained my good grades at, but I'm wondering if the non-science pre-reqs make a difference as far as getting in? What if I get As in all of the other pre-reqs? I'll take those two classes again if it's really going to help...anybody know?

Also, I'm trying to see if anybody else took that psychology life span and development class during the summer at TCC. Seems like a pretty easy class, am I right in thinking so?

ALSO--Any recommendations for professors for Anatomy at the South campus?

I'm not 100% on this BUT I think they only look at your required prereq classes and HESI score for admission. I too am in the exact same boat as you, went to college right out of high school and screwed around and got C's then had a baby and got more motivated and want to do TCC's program.

You really need to talk to a nursing program advisor at TCC for the correct, most current answers to your question. Good luck!~

TCC only considers your science pre-req's and HESI. I strongly encourage you to have every single other class done before starting nursing classes.
