You're likely looking at $21-$27 per hour with your years of experience.

I'm not sure if you're asking which hospital pays better or which one would be the better to work for. I'm not sure about the pay, seems like Texas Childrens would maybe offer you more since you are a peds nurse. As far as which one is better, I would think TX Children's with your background, but if there's a possibility you might want to try something other than peds one day, then Hermann would be the choice.

I don't know about the pay rates, as I am an Agency nurse. Both institutiions are excellent.

However if I were you, with only three years under your belt I would choose Hermann Memorial and work and gather experience in other areas.

10 years down the line you don't want to be thrown into what I call "Nurses Shock Syndrome", when for some unforeseen reason you have to work in another area of healthcare and you are thrown to the wolves with only pedi experience.

Some people say nursing is nursing. I beg to differ with them. The basics of nursing is the same but Cardiac nursing is another world from General Pedi. Trauma nursing is worlds away from Labor and Delivery. Get my drift?

    Good luck in your career!

With 3 years experience, you could get 30+ at CMHH. I currently work in the PICU and love it! The biggest advantage, as far as I am concerned, is that we are a level 1 trauma center - the only one for peds in the Houston area. I particularly enjoy working with the trauma patients, and absolutely love what I do!

    Questions? just IM me.
