High School Senior needing advice!!!

U.S.A. Texas

Hello all who decided to read this! I am looking for a nursing school to go to in the Dallas/Fort Worth area with great hands-on training. People have told me that some hospitals have programs where you can get your nursing degree while working for them. If you have any recommedations for schools or just anything in general, please let me know! I need all of the help I can get!

I think what they are talking about is: a hospital gives you X amount of money for school. In return you work at that hospital part time while in school (min-wage) and when you finish school you have to work there for a a year or so. Becareful about this. Most hospitals that offer this are not the best one to work at. (but not always)

Also the best offers in Alabama at this time are somewhere around: work while in school and 1 year after school per $5000

all of the Dallas hospitals have websites. Check them out, or call their nurse recruiter for accurate info. If a hospital is paying your tuition they expect something in return. If you agree to work for them after graduation, then change your mind, they might have the right to want all that money back with interest, all at once! So make sure someone else looks over the contract before you sign. Our facility (135 from Dallas) offers tuition reimbursement, which means you pay, but get reimbursed a PORTION of the tuition while you are working (full timers get more than part-timers). Also, check out the financial aid dept. in your school. They have done this before and may be able to guide you.
