I just got back from taking my HESI. I passed, but am not happy with my A&P section score. It was a lot tougher than I anticipated. It would have helped so much if I had already taken AP2 as well as AP1. There were several questions about body systems that we did not cover last semester in AP1. There were 7 sections (2 of which we did not have to take). Here is what I got:

    AP - 68
    Math - 94
    Grammar - 92
    Reading/Compr - 91.49
    Vocabulary - 92
Biology - 92 (this section wasn't required, but I took it before I realized)

The passing cut-off score is 65...so I barely made it with the 68.

The bad part is, after I finished and logged off the computer, they never could pull up my test scores. They were all lost! UGH! I had luckily written them down and they talked with the Director and they are taking my scores to the Health Occupations division office. I am just scared there will be some issue and I will have to retake the entire exam. Oh well, maybe I can study more for the AP section then :-)

    Glad it's over with!

Let me know how y'alls experiences went.

Wow very awesome scores PreNurseKirk! Was the vocabulary hard at all? (That's what I hear from the other students in this forum).

I'll be taking mine in a few weeks, I'll be sure to post the results afterwards.

No, I didn't think any of the sections were difficult except A&P. I did not take the prep course, but I bought the study guide. Some of the questions on the test were exactly the same from the study guide, especially some of the vocab words (like "untoward" and "voided") - I was glad I had gone over the words from the guide. From what I read in the test intro. - the tests are different for everyone and it's different every time you take it. So what questions I got - you won't. Good luck to you.

I took the HESI last year but I also noticed that quite a few of the questions were exactly the same as some of the one's in the study guide. My scores were pretty similar to yours. A&P was my downfall as well. At least you passed; that's the important part.

Great Scores! Hopefully you won't have to retake the test. But, good for you for trying to find the bright side

Wow I'm just going over the bones right now and I sincerely hope that we do not have to know every name and marking for the 206 bones.. it was a pain in the butt in AP but now to know every system and organ for the HESI AHHHHHHH.

Is it really super detailed? I wouldn't imagine that it would be. I didn't have to take the Hesi to get at the time I was applying, just that net test thing.
Did have to take Hesi as an exit exam though.

The entrance Hesi is not that detailed. The questions in the study guide are a great example of the questions you need to know. Buy A & P for dummies (or something like that - it's a quick study book) and go over it or just review each system. If you took A & P and did ok, it should come back pretty easily. If you have any specific questions, please ask and I'll try to answer. I teach A & P & would be glad to help if I can.

    Good luck!

    Hello kathy and thank you!

Hm not that detailed thats good to know Currently I'm using the Marieb Lab Book (not the lecture) to study for the A&P portion.
