Hello Texas Nurses!

I am a 60+ RN, who has been living in San Diego since 1992.  I am considering retiring to the Houston Suburbs within the next few years.  The High Cost of Living, Homeless Population,  Illegals pouring in on a daily basis, High Taxes & Expensive Housing are the main reasons I'm ready to leave California.  I also want to buy a New Construction 1 Story Home in Sugarland, Pearland, Friendswood, Richmond or any nice suburb;  which is affordable, close to shopping, restaurants hospitals and medical facilities.  I'm considering working Part-Time/Per-Diem to supplement my Social Security.  I'm looking for something low Stress & Not Crazy Busy.  Can anyone recommend facilities/hospitals suitable for someone in my age group?  I am a NOC Shift Nurse, & prefer to continue working Nights.  What type of facilities/hospitals can you recommend?  Also, what facilities/hospitals do you not recommend?  What is the Texas Medical Center like to receive care, and what is it like to work there?  I'm considering Houston, Texas, R/T Affordable Beautiful Housing, Tax Friendly State, Affordabilty & It Being A Foodie Paradise!  I Love Homestyle Country Cooking, Southern Cuisine & Cracker Barrel.  Also, let me know what other suburbs are good choices to live.  I'm ready to hear it all; Whether it be the Good, Bad or Ugly!  LOL!  Please Be Honest & Keep It Real.  All Advice, Opinions & Replies Are Welcome.  Thanks In Advance.
