I am a new LVN needing help finding a good LVN-RN program in the DFW area. I currently am working in LTC and am not having much luck finding a med-surg job. Nearly all of the schools I have looked in to require 6 months to a year of med-surg experience prior to admission to the bridge program.. (& most med-surg jobs require 6 months to a year of exp. prior to applying for a job?)...I would like to be able to apply/begin a bridge program by the time the spring 2015 semester rolls around if possible..
I am feeling a bit discouraged about getting accepted into a bridge program within the next year, and really hoping that I did not "waste my time" going to LVN school...It seems that I would have better luck/finish school quicker if I just go back and complete a generic RN program instead...the lvn-rn transition process is simply not turning out to be as smooth as I was informed that it would be.. almost everyone from my lvn class is having the same problem as well..
