Texas Hospitals

Published

I am looking for critical care/ trauma nursing positions for new graduates in areas like San Antonio, Austin, and particularly Houston and Dallas. I am interested in hospitals that have good internship programs and focus on maintaining higher standards of care and learning. Can anyone suggest any hospitals they have had experience with in these areas or comment on any of the following:

Seton (Austin)

St. Lukes (Houston)

Denton Regional Medical Center

Baylor hospital (Dallas)

Memorial Herman Hospitals (Houston)

Parkland Hospitals (Dallas)

Medical City Dallas Hospital

Houston Area Methodist Hospitals

St. Davids Hospitals (Austin)

Methodist Hospitals of Dallas

University of Texas Medical Branch (Galveston)

Specializes in insanity control.

Hey! Baylor has a great program. My husband has been courted by them, he is still in school. I have talked to them at his request and found them to be very accomidating. any way, check them out. not just their lit but go for a tour. ask a hundred and one questions. if you are an ADN they help you get your BSN and so forth. :roll

hope this helps.

good day.:D

I am not an expert but this is how I would rate them.

Denton Regional Medical Center- Denton is a fairly small college town. I don't think they do a lot of trauma there.

Baylor hospital (Dallas)- Great reputation.

Parkland Hospitals (Dallas)- If you are looking for trauma, this is your place. It's downtown Dallas and where all the uninsured people go. Lots of gunshots, MVA's, etc.

Medical City Dallas Hospital- This is more of a suburbs-type hospital.

Methodist Hospitals of Dallas- I've heard and good and bad about Methodist.
