Does anyone that has taken Texas Government at UTA online know if the book is necessary for the class? I have taken several classes now that I spent money on the book and then never needed it.

Unless they changed the course since last summer when I took it, the book is very necessary...sorry.
On the brighter side, rent a copy of it. Or buy and then resell it: that's what I did, and it worked out to only spending $30 in the end.
Thanks for letting me know! I really don't mind buying the book, I just didn't want to waste my money if I didn't need it. Looks like I will be renting one, thanks!

I left a comment earlier, I don't know what happened to it. Anyhow, I will be taking this class too along with Holistic care of Older Adults. According to the syllabus you will need the textbook for government. Texas Politics

If you have not taken this class yet-the book is absolutely needed. I had to challenge a few test questions, based on the book vs. the lecture. Overall, I thought it was a great class considering I am wasn't that interested in Texas. Boring at the end, though.

I just completed that class and although I can see how one might say the book is necessary but I maybe read a few chapters in the book total. I got by, by simply reading the modules/class notes from the instructor. I hope this helps! Also, I am wondering this same question for medical terminology that began Monday 10/21/13...... Do I really need the book? Do you know, have you taken this class?

NurseLindah you are correct! I challenged a question or two as well but nothing ever became of it unfortunately. Hopefully your luck was better than mine.

I rented the book, and used it some. I used the lecture and blackboard notes more. That class was alright, boring at times but that can be said for a lot of classes.
