Texas Dr violates abortion law!

Published

So what about the Texas Dr violating the abortion law deliberately?

I wonder and I doubt that Texas knew the can of worms that they have opened.

If they prosecute the Dr, he's going to appeal this all the way to the Supreme Court and along the way, I imagine that Privacy legislation is going to make an appearance.

Personally, I can see confidentiality laws also being introduced.

How is this going to affect Google and facebook? At what point do they realize that their business model is going to be compromised? How about phone companies? That stool pigeon has to report the information somehow? Through which medium and how?

I think this has mucho implications for everyone going forward! Especially for us in the health care industry!

Can you expand on this a little bit? What do you think is going to happen? To Google? facebook?

Both Google and facebook operate outside of the boundaries of both privacy and confidentiality. They collect data and then advertise or sell advertising services based on the data collected. They even sell people's data.

Their products are designed to collect people's data then using analytics, to capitalize through advertising campaigns to monetize the information.

Texas Dr, if it makes its way to the Supreme Court or even the state courts, will define privacy and confidentiality in who knows which ways and those conclusions can apply to many situations!

Many big companies depend on advertising and both Google and facebook will be the primary mediums used for the bounty hunters and the advertising, plus dissemination of the information from various facebook groups to fake news generated by the far right.

I can't speak to the FB and Google question, but I am extremely proud of this doctor for breaking this ridiculous law and being public about it. This is vitally important to protect patients' right to have treatment decisions made privately between them and their providers alone, as it should be. I commend this doctor for being willing to challenge the constitutionality  (clearly it is unconstitutional) of this statute. He is risking everything for our rights and already the brunt of many lawsuits. This takes courage and chutzpah.
