I had a DUI, downgraded to Reckless Driving. I've sent everything in... I moved from a compact state to Texas (compact State also). I began the process as soon as I got to Texas, which was in May. It took until mid-August to get my Temporary. That expired Dec 3rd, so I've not been able to work as a nurse since then. In the initial application, I didn't know that in the state I moved from a Reckless Driving is a misdemeaner, I did mention the reckless driving, but I did not elaborate. I worry they will think I hid it. (and of course you have to divulge all the details and provide court documents for this kind of thing)
I've been in touch with the investigator and the last we spoke, she had no information other than "it is with the director for recommendation" and to call back in 1-2 weeks, that time has since passed and I have left 2 messages and an email. I just received an email back sayin this:
"Spoke with your Enforcement investigator. A letter will being going out today to provide you with the Board's recommendation."
...and no further information. I'm so terrified I'm not going to get licensed. Has anyone else gone through this? How did it turn out? Does their response sound foreboding to you? it does to me I'm praying daily that everything turns out ok, but I'm so stressed out.

Talk to a lawyer so you know what to expect when you get that letter from the BON. If you divulged your wreckless driving to Texas, and they still gave you a temporary permit, maybe that's a good sign, but better to be prepared for anything. I'm also suprised that the BON emailed you, that's not the normal official mode of communication from a BON- there's no way they can be certain of the recipient, more so if an applicant is facing possible disciplinary action. Did you check your licensure status on the Texas (and your prior state's) BON website? Good place to start to see what they may be up to. Lawyer up.
I have called several times, after about 30 minutes, I finally get an answer and they forward me to my enforcement officer's line only to receive a voicemail. I have left several messages, I've tried to limit it to once a week, so as not to get on her bad side. I followed it with an email as a last ditch effort, and the response is what I posted above. (the email is listed on the website, I always put as much as I feel safe revealing in the message to identify myself) I check the website daily (several times), no disciplinary action listed, but no license either. My compact license in the other state is expired now.
So, I had to undergo a chemical dependency evaluation, which resulted in them saying I was a person of good moral standing and did not have any dependency issues or concerns. This was in February...
Now... The board has recently sent a long letter, they are requiring me to take 2 classes, present the letter/order to any nursing employer I may have (which states the charges and stipulations), and said employer has to provide me with a supervisor (who at least must be on the floor during my shift), they have to do progress reports every 3 months for a year, this is to any employer I may have for the next 5 years. I also have to take therapy, with progress reports... I am so defeated and just wish I could sleep it all away, but it's not going anywhere. Im going to consult a lawyer, I think. Or make a career change.
I don't feel like I deserve this.

Can I speak to you about the CDE? I have some questions and think you might be able to help me answer them
